It does look like a great razor.
Now if only I could get my hands on one. They always seem to be out of stock.

This was my first time using 4711. To me, the first burst of scent is a lot like Speick AS, but it quickly (within 30 seconds) dried down to a dominantly citrus scent. There is still a faint herb-like note in there like Speick, but much more orange/lemon scent. 4711 doesn't last long on the skin but it is very inexpensive for a big bottle like this, so you can apply it liberally. Citrus is a common top note in perfumes because it never lasts long.

Well I have the Italian barber Web page on my phone. To be specific the page with the Stealth razor on. I refresh the page each day to see if there is new stock. What are the chances that i will still miss the next batch if razors

I agree. I bought the Ikon 201 slant and the Stealth Slant with the plan to keep the one I liked better and sell the other one. The Stealth Slant won.

I jusy bought the new Above the Tie Open Comb Slant. It will compete with the RazoRock Stealth Slant. I will keep my favorite and sell the other one. The "loser" will still be one of the best razors on the market.

I had the complete opposite experience with V3 RR Slant.

I currently own the iKon DLC slant, iKon 102 Slant, Bakelite slant, Merkur 39c Slant and the V3 RR Slant. Use to own the iKon SS Slant and started it all with a 37c. For me, only the 37c ranked lower in shave quality. The RR Slant is the only slant that I have that requires a 3 pass shave and occasional touch up while all my other razors are 2 pass except the Feather AS-D1. Maybe it's due to all the pre shave prep I do but the RR is not for me. Again it's one of those YMMV scenarios.

    I'm the same. Even though I rather like the design and look of the RR slant I find it to;
    - clog up too quickly with lather,
    - need more clean-up passes than most other razors.

It's a nice razor - but at this point it's borderline if it will stay in my regular rotation or just hang on the rack looking pretty and come out to play once in a while.

I love mixing soaps and creams for two reasons. First, you can improve the quality of the lather. For example, the combination of Cella with Tobs Almond will produce a lather that IMHO is much better than either one by itself. More so, IMHO, when you add a shot of glycerin and make an Uber-Lather.

Second, and today's reason for mixing, is that I like creating and enhancing scents. I do it almost daily. If done correctly, you can get some amazing fragrances that no retailer carries. For example, one mix I made last week (I think - maybe the week before?) is Lilac, Lavender and Rose. It's like walking into a flower shop. If you go sparingly on one ingredient, the other's properties (such as slickness or cushioning or moisturizing) can continue to dominate while the fragrance of the one used sparingly can still shine through.

When I use Rose I Generally only use the slightest amount because I am looking for the fragrance as opposed to the qualities of the soap.

    Razor: Rolls Razor
    Soap: Monsavon Bol à Raser
    Brush: Frank Shaving Synthetic
Post: Alum, Old Spice White Water

I restored the rolls some time ago, new leather on the strop, a spare strop with chromium oxide, honed the blade with the same kind of progression of hones that I would generally use for a restored straight. Well the shave was great, like a straight on a stick.
The soap I had forgotten about, I picked it up in the summer while on holiday in France, its cheap and I found it in a small conveninece store. This is the first time I have used it with my home water, which can kill lather from some of the expensive soaps, but it was fantastic. Great lather, nice fragrance and lovely glide; true value for money!

    Final shave of this sequence.

    Razor: Gillette New Standard
    Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux
    Brush: Omega 10049
Soap: Maggard Lime & Bergamot :signs002:
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush
    :smiley freezing:
Trying to change up my setup so you guys won't get bored. :sleep025::happy068:

I liked this New Standard when I used it before, but I've only used it for 4-5 shaves, so it's still pretty new to me. First time with the Rapira blades and first time with the Maggard Lime & Bergamot (what's a "bergamot"?) soap. I found the blade to be very sharp and very smooth. My definition of smooth is a blade that cuts well without irritation. The Astra SP's have been giving me trouble in this department lately. The Maggard soap lathered extremely easily and I quickly had almost too much (is that possible?). I liked the fruity-lime scent and it dissipated right after I was done. Did a normal shave (XTG, XTG, ATG) that went well and felt good (or at least I thought). But there was quite a bit of feedback sting when I put on the AS. I really liked the way the Rapira seemed to shave, so I've obviously got more research to do (will the 'research' never end?).

Anyway, here's my crude attempt at "upscale" photography. Enjoy!

as a Brit we don't get to see a lot of your football but I do enjoy it. Is it worth me staying up late (in a few days time) to catch the weekly highlights show for this one?

You will enjoy watching this one Nic. The Seahawks snatched Victory from the jaws of defeat right at the last. Much like the battle of Britian during WWII; never give up and good things sometimes happens. :happy088: :happy093:

It is a mild razor, so it needs a very sharp blade. Paired with a Feather, I get great shaves with the Stealth and my beard is very thick.

As you said, YMMV. We'll see if the ATT Open Comb Slant convinces me to part with my Stealth Slant. For now, the Stealth is my second favorite razor of all time to the Goose.
