I'd like to make an observation. I'm still new at this DE shaving stuff (less than a year), but I don't think I'd ever be "brave enough" to use a straight. There are some amazing pics of some beautiful straights in this thread and those who use them have my utmost respect and admiration. All I can say is "You're a better man than I am!"

Keep sending the pics, they're awesome!

    Soap: Catie’s Bubbles-La Terre Verte
    Razor: Gillette Slim

Catie’s Bubbles LTV today. 20 seconds: load & go with the oscar11. Great, easy, thick lather. Gillette 7 O’Clock Green SS in the Slim. Excellent, smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Fine Platinum.

    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Turkish #6
    Razor - Merkur 34C
    Blade - Astra SP(2)
    AS - Pinaud Clubman Musk

OK shave, nothing to do back flips over. Decided to try a shave without the Corn Huskers today. Didn't notice much of a difference in quality of shave if I am honest with myself. I am enjoying the Clubman Musk more each time I use it.

Razor: ’72 Gillette Tech with Muhle handle (Frankentech)

Post: Gillette Lotion ASB & Fine Classic AS – Platinum

Relatively mild morning today. Some slight flurries but temps in the low 30s. Sidewalks are kind of icy so Chico and I took our time walking. For some reason the canal that flows through downtown was uncharacteristically noisy today. It was actually kind of eerie lol...

Straights are awesome, but they take a lot of care and you have to be really patient to develop your technique. I have one, and I have only shaved my cheeks with it. I haven't ventured further because I don't have the confidence. I believe that is why so many men had full beards in the past before safety razors. You needed a professional if you wanted to be clean shaven.

Much better 3 pass shave today. Not BBS but as close as I can get on a work morning. I do have my work day routine down now. The shave takes a little less than 10 minutes from the time I exit the shower to the AS splash and clean up.

3 pass BBS today. However, I did manage to irritate a spot on my neck. I think the S1 and the Rapira pair well, but after this trial, I may try a few more blade brands in it to see if there is an even better combo for me.

    Razor : Edwin Jagger DE89
    Brush : Omega Pro 20248
    Cream : Mem Olive
    Blade : Gillette Platinum
Post : Tarr lotion + DR Harris Sandalwood aftershave

Outstanding shave today, 2 passes as usual. I love the big Omega brush, tons of lather from the Mem cream. Used the same Gillette Platinum as yesterday only in the Edwin Jagger razor, did a wonderful job. The DR Harris is very long-lasting and even now I can still smell it after 9 hours :)

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra, John Jay Velvet Shaver straight razor
    Blade: Feather Professional Light (5)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: Tabac
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Musk after shave
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense

A nice 2 pass shave this morning. The Vie Long whipped up the Tabac into a great lather. The Cobra and the Velvet Shaver did their jobs well. The AV brought some protection and the Prada will have me smelling great all day. All in all, it was a smooth Darn Fine + shave.

    Have a blessed day!!

Thank you for your kind words and I get asked questions, all the time, mostly about what I am taking photos of. Most folks don't know what a 'razor' actually looks like! :lyrtuy5:
