A very frigid day here in Montreal today and also for tomorrow, so here are my shaving plans!

    Menthol Monday:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/7 AM day 7
Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

It just can't get any colder than this because this is the Mother of All Menthol Freezes in every way you can imagine. The Neutrogena facial wash packs a damned good icy wallop, the Glacial Obsidian has that ultra-potently frigid sensation which seems to become more intense the longer it's on your face, and the Gold Bond moisturizer contributes very nicely to the experience. A couple of good slaps of the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel will bring "tears of joy" to your eyes afterwards. ;) :D

    Nivea Men's Face Wash
    TOBS Lavender
    Wild Cherry PTS
    Schick L-1
    Personna Injector
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Aqua Velva

The TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Wild Cherry PTS Brush. Two passes with my Schick L-1 and a Personna Coated SS Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal Petal WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Plans for January 26, 2015

I just loaded the Mongoose with a new Feather Pro blade that should take me to the end of my 30-day adventure. I have learned a lot by sticking with one set up for the past few weeks. I've learned even more from my good friends here at TSD. I plan to switch over to a new set up on Monday, February 2.

I hope you all have an exceptional Monday.

    Monday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Edwin Jagger DE8911
    Blade: Voskhod (4)
    Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger
    Soap: Bluness
Cologne: Sandy (Pe Re Ja) White Lily Flower

Russians know how to make really great blades and this Voskhod is sharp and comfy atm. I think, I can have another shave with the blade in my next shave. I also tried a Pe Re Ja sub-brand; Sandy for the first time and liked it. It didn't burn my skin after the shave. It may be because of no irritation factor of Voskhod&EJ DE8911 or low alcohol factor of cologne. Blueness also did a magnificent job in making lather.

    Menthol Monday
Most of the subtle menthol today came from the Kiehl's pre shave and Fine aftershave. The soap lathered easily with the lather monster, and my stubble met its demise comfortably thanks to the iKon SC101. I did get a couple weepers on my neck, and a little redness. Those were handled by Shea Moisture AS elixir and balm, which I applied after the Fine Platinum.

    Prep: Kiehl's Facial Fuel Wash
    Soap: testing sample
    Brush: HIS XL
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna lab blue (3)
AS: Fine Platinum, Shea Moisture Elixir and Balm

Nice shave today but I can't help thinking the SOC needs some work. It's pretty moppy for my liking. Eventually, I'll get around to it. Have a good one. We'll be heading to Columbus, OH for a week vacation soon (daughter and son-in law). My hands are in pretty bad shape and need some healing. I have so many cuts, dings, burns and abrasions that it hurts to shave. I have a few things to finish up first, hopefully tonight.

I recently received my shipment of Russian blades, which had four blades I have never tried before. So, I am trying different blades every day until I try them all at least once. Today I used the Rapira Platinum Lux. This feels nice and smooth, although it did feel a a little less sharp than the Voskhods or Ladas, but not significantly. Overall, it was a very nice 3 pass shave with near BBS results.

First use of the Injecto-Matic. Quite a nice razor that gave me a right dandy shave. Handle feel a bit strange due to the shape but easy to hold. Gonna use it some more for sure

    1/26/2015 Menthol Monday!!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra, Imperial Razor Warranted Barbers Favorite straight razor
    Blade: Feather Professional Light (10)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: Stirling - Frozen Tundra
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Prada EDT

A cold 2 pass shave this morning. I whipped up the Frozen Tundra into a soupy but wonderful lather with the Vie Long brush. The lather felt like rubbing snow on my chin. The Barbers Favorite and the Cobra performed well. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Prada EDT will have me smelling great all day. All in all a cold Darn Fine Shave +.

    Have a blessed day!

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave Balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Obsidian
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Baili Blue (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (3, 4)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

Expecting 18+ inches of snow? Check. Need to walk roughly 90 minutes to and from the school in that weather? Check. It must be time for the Glacial soap! Decent lather, and the blade performed better on day 2 than on its maiden voyage. DFS, without any injury or irritation. I may try to stick with Stirling soaps this week, to either get a better handle on lathering them, or to get through them a mite faster.
