Just keep in mind a bug out bag has become a bit romanticized as of late. 72 hours or more of survival is not difficult and a lot of BOBs are designed to make people feel good about buying some junk someone put In a bag. If you look at what people really need it's often much different than what a bob holds. Ötzi man had a "bob" of sorts and you can do very well with a modern equivalent. Like a sharp knife and sharpener, cigarette lighter, garbage bag for shelter, some food and water plus maybe cash and a gun with ammo. Sure, you can pack other stuff that might help but look for tools that do multiple things. A roll of TP can work to clean yourself, provide a field expedient bandage and also tinder. Duct tape can lash, make straps and make tourniquets and repair and waterproof. Stuff won't replace knowledge and a good book like the SAS survival manual will help you think outside the box.
"Other names for such a bag are a BOB,[7] 72-hour kit,[8] a grab bag,[9] a battle box, a Personal Emergency Relocation Kits (PERK), a go bag, a GOOD bag (Get Out Of Dodge)[10] or INCHbag (I'm Never Coming Home).[verification needed]" Hahaha INCHbag
I carry a back-pack in the back seat of my truck with: complete change of clothes small shave kit towel bar of soap/ deodorant pocket knife/ gerber multi plier fifty bucks spare glasses Sun and reading I call it my "just in case bag"
I received my Rapira Swedish Supersteel and Platinum Lux blades from Russia. It took 24 days to find me in the boonies of south Texas. Not bad! Great ebay vendor for great blades.
Got some stuff yesterday: - 2 more wood racks - Provence Sante A/S - Jovan Musk Cologne Initial thoughts: The racks: "Great rack". Sorry had to. These are in addition to the two I already have - so I'll be able to put 48 razors into them in total (which is, believe it or not, about 10-12 more than I own...right now). Provence Sante: Used it this morning and the scent is very subtle (green tea). It's a French non-alchol based a/s splash for sensitive skin. Normally I need to also apply a balm but it's been about 4 hours since I shaved this morning and my face is still feeling moisturized. Seems like a winner but we'll see after a week or two of use. Jovan Musk: Never used it but at $7-8 on Amazon I thought I should give it a try. First impression: A bit too sweet/floral for me. I often prefer more woodsy/deeper scents but I can actually see this working really well as a summer cologne.
In the mail today (thanks JoAnna) I could smell the delicious scent before I opened the package. I can't wait use it. I never understood the talk of tasting/eating shaving soap but now I do (not that I'm going to but this smells so yummy I can understand how some could be tempted)
Have you come across any racks that are linear like these are but the mm holes are big enough to hold a brush? I know there is pipe racks but they are generally thicker in width and I'm looking for something to fit on a window sill.
Hmm...can't say I've seen anything like that..then again, admittedly, I haven't been actively looking. I only have three brushes
Well after admiring these brushes for months, I couldn't resist the 25% coupon that Aremor was offering on his Artisan Brushes during his 2nd Anniversary sale and ordered one of these in 26mm Manchurian fan shape with a tad longer handle.
I might be mistaken but believe the sales ends tomorrow. I cant log into paypal but know it was less than $120, possibly under $110.
