I stumbled across this, I have always wanted Butterscotch and i got a keeper. never seen a green box, or not in a long while, what is up with that?
Been a while since I posted anything in the Haul... It's been a busy month at work, and I committed to doing less acquisition this year. That said, here are the latest arrivals: a '48/49 Super Speed in stellar condition, and a Matador El Gordo Negro in black... And they threw in 3 packs of blades with it!
Two knots arrived today from China. I put them in a wild cherry handle I made and in a Cholula lid. They are both pure badger knots. I set the cherry handle knot at 20mm x 53mm. The Cholula lid is 18mm x 50mm. They are designated Jayaruh WC3 and Jayaruh CH2. Left: Jayaruh WC3 Right: Jayaruh CH2
I received my pair of Mickey Lee SoapWorks Soaps. The two scents are the Kraken (Barbershop with a Twist) as well as their new offering "La Belle du Sud" (Peach, Lavender, and Pistachio). Mickey Lee Soapworks recently updated their packaging, and lowered their price to $12 a tub. I had originally ordered their Pantie Dropper scent when Maggard had their sale, but I found that soap to have a very mild scent. I sent them a polite email, and they offered to exchange that soap for a new and more robust scent. They suggested either Kraken or Drunken Goat. I appreciated their customer service and ended up adding one of their new scents to my order. So far so good. I did some lather tests and was impressed with their products. If your looking for some unique scent offerings to change it up a little, you should check them out.
I received my Reef Point Sublime. Smells fantastic! I also bought a damaged alum block from Maggards, @Omelmad it's 99.9% intact. A very small piece of the corner is missing. Also my wife surprised me with three spray bottles, from Walmart. I've already filled them.
A long time ago I purchased a chrome Schick L1 for five bucks that looked to be in good condition only to find out the spring wouldn't hold the blade tight so it's been marked "dud" and never used. Since then I've acquired other L series Schicks (SchickGrip, StickSchick, EasyRider) and continued to look for another L1. I did find and buy a NOS gold L1 as a gift for a friend but hadn't run across one for myself. A recent buying binge on eBay turned up several things including both a gold L1 and a chrome L1. The gold one arrived yesterday, had a nice bath, and is now ready for a fresh blade. It didn't come with a box or anything and didn't have the pretend blade in it that came with them new but there wasn't even a hint inside the head of ever being used. Usually there's always a bit of dried soap grunge but this one was clean as a whistle. The spring is nice and tight and the finish is in excellent condition for it's age. Hopefully the chrome one that's coming will be just as nice.
That's a nice shaver. I just finished a week of shaving with mine. Nice shaves. Glad you finally got one for yourself.
I hope you liked he soap. And why did they say 70% intact hahaha how much did you pay for it? Those bottles looks very nice. Did you try them yet?
