David, although I wore a mustache for many years, I've been pretty much 'clean-shaven' (no mustache) for the past 7-8 years.
I've had the 'soul patch' for the past 6 years or so, but that requires minor upkeep. I started growing the 'stache last 'Movember,' and in the past 7 weeks have been 'training' it into a handlebar—which requires wax.
Considerably more maintenance is needed, but since I'm in competition with my son, it's worth the effort….;)

    Soap - Red Proraso Tub
    Brush - Turkish #6
    Razor - 1966 Superspeed
    Blade - Astra SP (3)
    AS - Pinaud Clubman Musk
Overall an OK shave. I am not one who gives up easily and decided to give the Proraso Red Tub 1 more try before I use til it gone the RR XXX. Although I enjoy the scent, the performance is not up to my standards. Was thinking of just storing and returning in 6 months as suggested, however I am going to putting it up for either trade or PIF later today. Several outstanding soaps in den with a few more i want to try.

This morning’s shave completed my 30 days in January. Today was a very nice 3 pass BBS shave. I really enjoy the extra time of weekend shaves. Now onto Focus February.

    ICED Aqua Velva ice blue
today's shave was busy. I used today's shave to grab some pics for my review of this soap. look in on our thoughts at the right coast reviewer's thread. so aside from a few distractions today's shave went very nicely. three passes left me cool and smooth. finished with iced ice blue. kicks it up a notch to kickin' cool.
hope y'all did as well, or better. 20150131_110739.jpg

Thanks! My first estate sale find last spring. The razor came with an Old Spice mug from the 40's and a brush. I had to insist on the $1! The guy had already put everything in the trash!

Been feeling under the weather the læast few days. Still am. The build up of stubble was driving me crazy, so it was time for the big guns. The R41 with a Feather blade, which made short work of the long stubble and left me with a nice BBS.
Only one strange thing. I broke my Alum block the other day. As I was shaving i was thinking:

I wonder if i need an alum block, it has been ages since i cut.....oh Man!!! That really stings. Cant belive I cut myself!!!

Other than that a good shave. Now to drag myself back to bed.
    Have a good weekend gents.

    Razor R41 Head EJ handle
    Blade - Feather
    lather - Soap Commander Courage
    Brush - Plisson Synthetic
    Aftershave - Nivea moisterising balm
Post Shave - Broken shard of Alum Block.

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash

    Soap/cream- Stirling soap Company Sandalwood

    Brush- Whipped dog 24mm silvertip

    Razor- Gillette Slim adjustable(5)

    Blade- LADAS

Post- Cold water rinse, Alum block, Lucky tiger bay rum aftershave lotion and mentholated Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

I like Stirling soaps but I LOVE his Sandalwood scent! Oh myy...

I took a break from trying my new stuff just because I don't want to try them to fast =P I want the trial period to be longer =D and also I missed my Stirling soaps.

First time using my a Stirling soap with my Silvertip, it felt really nice!

Guys.. I know now I was missing out on a lot when I didn't have a silvertip. I received it as a gift but it is very affordable at 30$ from whipped dog

    January 31 (Day 30)

    Pre: Stirling Sheep Soap
    Razor: Mongoose
    Blade: Feather Professional (day 6)
    Brush: Two-band silvertip
Lather: Stirling Naked and Smooth soap plus a few bits of leftover soap & glycerin
    Shave: Two-pass plus touch-ups
Post: Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, Pinaud Clubman
    Result: :happy005:

This is the last day of my 30-day run with the Mongoose. Paired with a Feather Pro blade, it is my best performing razor. I will miss it for the next few weeks as I switch over to my Feather Artist Club razor tomorrow. I will trade great shaves for hopefully good ones as I improve my skills with a shavette.

Congratulations to all that have reached the finish line for January and to those that have it in sight! I'll see you all in the February Focus! :happy088:
