    • Growth: 2 days
    • Prep: Shower; Corn Huskers Lotion
    • Lather: Cella – Face lathered
    • Brush: SOC Boar
    • Razor: Weishi 9306
    • Blade: Voskhod (1)
    • Post: Alum; Dove Post Shave Balm
Today’s Results: 3 pass DFS. I’ve decided to do a few 7 Day Rules to follow up on my experience with the 30 day rule. This week I am sticking to the Weishi. The razor is still mild and I can’t get as smooth around my chin. However, the Voskhod seems like a far superior blade for me – sharper and smoother than Derby. Zero feedback from the alum. Still need to practice getting a solid lather from the Cella. I am going to try to use the SOC all month to get it really broken in.

October 8, 2013 was my last shave with my Edwin Jagger DE89. Vintage razors have pushed it to the display case. So, I decided that it needs some loving. I will be using it for the first week in February.

The Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC2 Synthetic Brush. Two passes with my Edwin Jagger DE89 and a Personna Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Prep: none but splash of hot water
    Razor: '59 Fatboy Adjustable
    Blade: Voskhod Teflon (1)
Brush: New Forest 2204 High Mountain Badger
Lather: Whoos the Man Victory - face lathered
Shave (setting): 2 passes; WTG (9), ATG + Cleanup (9)
Post: cold water, Clubman Virgin Islands Bay Rum aftershave

Had a great close shave with no nicks or bites from the aggressive set Fatboy. The Voskhod is reaffirmed as tied for my best blade, alongside the Super-max Titanium. Only needed 2 passes on 4 days growth, with minimal cleanup. I actually could've stopped at one pass and been passable clean for work or whatever. No burn at all felt from the Bay Rum aftershave. Usually this one's gonna light you up after a bad shave. So for me to get a irritation free 2 pass shave is a step up for me. I usually have to go 3 passes on my shaves. I guess there is always room to improve, even if you think you've finally figured this shaving thing out.

    Hi my Friends,

moments ago i had a awesome shave. I have extreme skin irritations because of the stress at work, but nevertheless the shave was wonderful. Here is what i used:

Soap: Tim´s Soap Greek Peach | Brush: PAV Brushworks Chief | Razor: Merkur 34c | Blade: Triton R3 | Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

What a great soap!!! I´m so glad i bought it. A wonderful peach scent. The soap creates lather very easy and the lather is very dense, creamy and EXTREME slick. During the shave the soap gives a great skinfeel and protects the skin. After the shave the skin feels relaxed and soothed (maybe because of the Avocado Butter in it). I will not loose a word about the PAV brush. Stunning and by far my best brush.

    This is it for now.

Take care and have a wonderful time.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash

Soap/cream- Stirling soap Company Bay rum

    Brush- Whipped dog 24mm silvertip

    Razor- Gillette Slim adjustable(5)

    Blade- LADAS(2)

Post- Cold water rinse, Alum block, Lucky tiger bay rum aftershave lotion and mentholated Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

Stirling kick! Nice shave today! My stirling soaps pair perfectly with my Whipped dog.

Very easy to load and I get awesome lather. Maybe I'm even loading to much. Having only samples and living in Sweden I feel a bit stingy because I don't want them to get used up to quickly hahaha but it's soap and I'm getting great shaves. I can always get more.

I'm definitely getting sandalwood and bay rum in full size! I can't live without them =P

Also I wanna say thank you again to @david of central florida for the Gillette slim. It has become my go2 razor. I definitely miss my MMOC and I have 3 other razors I haven't used, Super speed black tip(from Kerry), a Schick dial, Gillette tech (from Martin). But I'm having so much fun with my Slim they are gonna have to wait a little while longer =D

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave Balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Bay Rum
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Big Ben (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (5, 6)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Today was the last day of my week of Stirling, and I think I got the best lather to date out of it. That made for a very comfortable two-pass shave, even if it wasn't the closest ever. As before, I could easily have gone after a 3rd pass - I had plenty of lather - but I decided to leave well enough alone with a DFS result.

The Dorco blade is not going to last until tomorrow - it was kind of difficult to get the desired results, although I did achieve a good BBS shave. My first pass was all right but afterwards I was sort of struggling. Mind you, I have a very tough beard so after almost a full week of using any blade I find that I get into that situation, but the Dorcos are not really for me. The Black Ice is nowhere nearly as powerfully-mentholated as its "cousin" which is the Glacial Obsidian, but it still gives a good and strong menthol punch with terrific lather. The Aqua Velva felt nice and frosty. ;) :D

I've had similar results with my 1904. I think it's a great looking razor, but it is very mild. I like the razor, but don't seem to get a really close shave.

Mastro Livi CarboInox, 6/8 Full Hollow, Barber's Notch

A memorable shave. A stunning beautiful straight razor, a magnificent soap, a fabulous brush, a luxurious aftershave. I wanted the best for the first shave in which I used this superior, stunning, amazing and beautiful Mastro Livi CarboInox straight razor. I love Mastro Livi Carbon Damascus touch and thanks to this razor, which point is made of stainless steel, I discovered a new pleasure in shaving. The blade is velvety and smooth - like every Mastro Livi carbon damascus steel is - while the point becomes a little more aggressive - because of stainless steel - very effective is some particular spots of the face. A superior straight razor, just another proof of the craftsmanship, talent, art and skill of this remarkable Italian artisan, a genius in making straight razors, both in performance and beauty!
    • Pre-Shave: Myrsol Emulsión
    • Soap: Elberel P.160

    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox, 6/8 Full Hollow, Barber's Notch

Today's shave, like most of my shaves, was an experiment. Today's experiment was to see if I could get a different scent on each pass. First pass was plain LPL, second was LPL with a touch of TOBS Rose, and third was LPL with TOBS Rose and Tobs Lavender. This does take a little work as you have to work in the additional cream and water before each pass, but it was well worth it. It was great having the scent change each pass and I ended up with a very nice shave.

With the right blade, I get BBS results in 3 passes. The Big Ben just isn't that blade for me, in this razor.
