This will be my setup for the entire month of February. I have some mixed feelings about menthol soaps and whether or not my skin can tolerate it. I want to give it a thorough test and maybe play around with other blades.

Beard Prep: Hot shower, glycerin soap, hair conditioner
    Razor: Merkur 34C
    Brush: Omega 13109
Soap: The Copper Hat Shaved Ice
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue (2)
Post: Cold rinse, Alum, Thayers WH Original
    A/S: Proraso White balm

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash

    Soap/cream- KLAR KABINETT

    Brush- Whipped dog 24mm silvertip

    Razor- Gillette Slim adjustable(5)

    Blade- LADAS(3)

Post- Cold water rinse, Alum block, Geo F. Trumper Coral skin food and Nivea original aftershave balm

First time using Klar Kabinett. I cut a few slices and put them in the bottom of a container. I wet them and pushed them down and set the container in the side. Went into the shower and when I was done they had stuck onto the bottom =D

I loaded a bit longer than usual because I didn't swirl on a full puck but I got a nice load.

This soap I really understand why people love it. It started lathering while I was loading it and I started smelling it the nice rose scent. It was there but it's really not strong. That is very nice, I do like the Rose scent but it doesn't need to be overpowering =)

Slickness and staying power is very nice. I'm gonna enjoy this soap for a couple of days. I have been waiting on this package for a while. There was a problem with shipping the first time and it was returned to Kerry after 2 months. We thought it was gone forever. We tried again and it took 14 days.

    I already love Klar Kabinett

    Fougere Day
I recently traded for B&M Fougere Imperiale and I used it today for the first time. The scent is a dry earthy slightly sweet smell, almost a cousin to Petrichor. It's subtle and pleasant. The performance was standard B&M excellence. I did get a couple weepers, but that could be from day four on the same blade. Voskhods work well in Der Vorschlaghammer, and Kyovu Bay Rum is a nice finish. The BBBP easily made yogurt lather, comfortably built on my face.
    Prep: Proraso White
    Soap: B&M Fougere Imperiale
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Beast Plisson
    Razor: Der Vorschlaghammer

Prep: warm wash and Cornhusker's Lotion
    Lather: TSD grey vetiver type
    Brush: BodyShop synthetic
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (1)
Post: warm rinse and Proraso Green aftershave

3 pass and BBS. First time face lathering with the synthetic brush and it did a nice job of creating a slick and shiny lather. Wasn't chasing a BBS but the Ladas/Weber combo were just outstanding.

Razor: '46 - '50 Gillette Heavy Gold Tech

    Scent: Pinaud Clubman

Awesome shave today! My technique seems to be rapidly improving this week. I was in the zone this morning and got a DFS, borderline BBS. May have found what works for the trouble areas around my chin. Also I think I like the Astra SPs.

Dusy Kabinett. I'll get to the point. Had this been a blind shave test, I would've thought I was using Klar. Dusy is fantastic! The stick is hard, when cut into small pieces it's pliable. Nice mild rose sent, very easy to lather, slick, cushion-y. All the great things we look for in a soap. This soap is in production, it's Made in Germany. The soap was a PIF from Troy, so I don't know the cost. would I buy this soap? Yes! Yes!
    Go out and get it!

Here are the ingredients for both Klar and Dusy. They're not exactly the same, my nose, face could not tell the difference.

    PSO: Palmer's oil
    lather: Kapo cream
brush: TGN synthetic knot in custom handle
    blade: Ladas (2)
    razor: FaTip Grande
finish: Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum

Whooo-EE! That FaTip is a mean ol' gator, ain't it? I managed to hold his tail so he didn't quite bite me, but he still let me feel his teeth. That is to say that today's BBS only had a couple of weepers and no actual razor burn, but my face is a bit red and "tight." The Clubman Bay Rum burned, as usual, but might have been slightly on the hotter side of medium. I've been using more soothing potions lately, so it certainly felt "kicked up" a notch.

I have to say that this adventure with the Palmer's oil has been a pip. I still paid more attention to The Beast than the oil, but I did consider closely towards the end. My face wasn't "creamy-silky" like the first couple of times, but it was a very nice smooth, with a light, almost wax-like, protective coating. I think the difference was the Kapo cream, rather than Cella, MWF or Arko. Don't get me wrong! I think Kapo is a good shaving cream. I just suspect that its effect was different from the others. I liked the end result quite well, but may prefer "creamy-silky" over "smooth and lightly waxed." The Clubman VIBR has burned off any waxiness, though, so I am sitting here with a very smooth but slightly tight (dry?) face. At the moment, I am wishing I had brought the Palmer's oil to work. I wouldn't mind a couple of drops to ease the tightness.

I've never played that much with PSOs, just used Palmer's and Shave Secret as part of my routine. However, I am now wondering about the properties of different oils and how great they might feel. I've got some avocado oil that feels really great on the skin for massages...

Great!... I've just added another dimension to this hobby... <sigh>

    Odin's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (6, 7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
    Cologne: Aoud Forest by Montale

I couldn't stay away from the jasmine for a whole week, apparently. The Coffee Jasmine lathers just as easily and well as the Grass Stain Menthol Snow, providing easily enough lather for 3 passes. Everything was going really comfortably and well. Unfortunately, I applied a bit too much pressure on the ATG pass on my upper lip, and got a couple of weepers as payment for my error. Otherwise, BBS results without any other burn or discomfort.

    Barrister & Mann Cheshire soap
    Plisson L'occitane synthetic brush
    RazoRock SS Stealth Slant razor
    Feather blade
    Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm
    Geoffrey Beane Grey Flannel EDT

This Stealth performed great as expected. However, it is interesting how different the stainless version behaves from the aluminum model. The difference in weight makes it more aggressive and you really need to let the weight of the razor do all the work. With the aluminum version, it is so light that it is forgiving when you apply more pressure. I want to get a few more shaves in before I decide whether I prefer the lighter or the heavier Stealth.
