I love it. I've never used a brush this soft with this much backbone. I can only imagine what yours is like.

A great shave and a great end to a successful day as, today, I have brewed 25L (6.6 us gal) of Brown Ale and put another 25L of Pale Ale in a keg to mature for a few weeks before drinking. My back certainly knows I've been carrying around some heavy stuff today.

See what beer can do? Wow, shaving and beer, I never considered it...

My shaving plans for Thursday morning:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 4
Permafrost Blue Shaving Stick :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055::Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Fahrenheit EdT

Because we're going back into cold weather again (damn it!) I'll be reducing my menthol dosage for tomorrow, but I'm not going to be cutting it out completely. This Permafrost Blue stick from Tryphon Enterprises which unfortunately is no longer in business is really good. It's got a nice licorice scent with plenty of rich, easy-to-build lather and more than enough menthol to satisfy my needs. It also gives very good post-shave care. The Gold Bond moisturizer will put lots of additional chill into my skin, along with the Aqua Velva aftershave. By the way - these SuperMax Blues are great blades. I'm sure I'll wind up BBS again with little effort. ;) :D

I can confirm that, within limits, beer and shaving go well.

Nice looking old type. Those razors are fun to shave with, but they do make you pay close attention. I switch razors with every blade change...it's just fun!

What limits? Only drink before shaving, after shaving and between passes?

    Jayaruh WC2 Synthetic
    Edwin Jagger DE89
    Personna Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva

This is the 5th day of Loving the EJ DE89 Week. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC2 Synthetic Brush. Two passes with my Edwin Jagger DE89 and a Personna Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Instead of Cocoa based (Klar) it is Palm based (Dusy). Thanks Kerry for the information!

I have one of the original Schick designed razors. It sounds to me that this is a very close clone that if you were shaving blindfolded and swapping between the Schick and the Russian clone with the same blade that you would not tell the difference.

    February 4 (day 4)

    Stirling Sheep Soap
Feather Artist Club razor (aka Advanced Combat Razor)
    Feather Professional blade (day 3)
    Two-band silvertip
Stirling Naked and Smooth soap plus a few bits of leftover soap & glycerin
    Two-passes - WTG and XTG
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter

I attempted a very light and careful XTG second pass, and I was rewarded with a pretty good shave today. The irritation on my neck and upper lip from my Sunday shave has calmed down, and I'm encouraged. I am taking baby steps toward a close and comfortable two- or three-pass shave with this set up. I just watched geofatboy wield this razor like it was a magic wand, and I'm reminded that I have a long way to go.

One cool thing about this razor is that the handle is very grippy, even with wet fingers. I'm also beginning to appreciate the stubby handle on my new two-band brush. I already love the feel of it.

We're expecting some snow tonight, but I know that Spring is in sight. I hope you had some fun and laughter today.
