Not so easy at my workplace. Our time is all one thing called Personal Leave Bank and with a new Time Tracker system, we have ask for time off (whatever the reason) 24 hours ahead of time or get an unscheduled leave...as if you can schedule being sick.

Accumulate 3 in a year and you can be terminated. She's also not thinking about other people getting the flu. Half of second shift is out with it. I got it last year for the first time and my boss got it the week after me, since I stayed at work for two days with a high fever.

Cytogenetics, specifically looking for cancer changes in chromosomes (diagnosing cancer). We've had mandatory overtime for 6 or so months.

Wow! Now that is a very important job I applaud you, however you still need to be 100% a couple days off with plenty of fluids and rest you will be a much better worker.

Very nice shave this morning, actually I haven't been shaving daily but about every other day and all shaves have been superb. I'll be flying out this afternoon and should be home this evening. It's been an enjoyable trip but I'm a poor tourist. Have a good one.

O.K. shave this morning. I ended up having to do quite a bit of work on the Dovo to get it shave ready so I might have missed it by a little. I also have a new stone that I'm messing with to so it wasn't the original recipe when it came to honing. Have a good one. It's nice to be home again but work isn't going good for me. I guess the next day or 2 will tell the tale.

    1) shaver Dovo blade 5/8 blade touch up with 8k and strop
    2)brush VDH Boar
    3)soap maggard orange Menthol
    4) Osama alum
    5)Tend skin (HM)
    6) ASB mix of AOS sandalwood/Ogallala sage & cedar

First time to shave with a blade with an 8k touch up. I found the edge to be tacky keen, it to give a smooth end product, however the road getting there was not as refined as i hoped, just wondering if more than 10 laps would give a smother edge.

May your blade be keen and your shave be smooth.

    .
Sorry to hear that Lindyhopper. The reason they are doing that is that people have abused the sick leave thing. My wife has 170 hours of sick leave built up but the others where she works use it for long weekends as soon as they get it posted. before you know it they will do the same thing there. I retired from American Family Insurance with 275 sick days, never took one in 20+ years. They paid my health insurance for two years but are not doing it anymore. Times are changing and not for the good

I don't think the policy should be based on what a few people would or could do. The thing is I don't have sick leave as such. I have a Personal Leave Bank (PLB) with a set amount of hours to be used for vacation or just time off. We ask for the time off ahead of time usually, but when someone is in a car accident and has to go the hospital or a someone has an attack of vertigo for some reason and has to be taken to urgent care, those people are taking "unscheduled" leave. Three of those and you're are terminated. You can have proof of accident or illness from a doctor or whatever and it doesn't change things. You get an "unscheduled" leave mark on your record.

Yeah, I think I'm unlucky to have the supervisor I have. The other supervisors in the main cytogenetics department do not follow the policy in that manner. They would only use it as a means to fire someone who has been doing iffy things already. I was going to retire at 70, but don't know if I can continue another 5 years dealing with the vagaries of my workplace.
