So far my favorite blade, I am currently trying Feather in my 39c. In all my other razors the Astra is hard to beat.

Astra SP is a great blade, but I recently got a 100 pack of Personna Comfort Coated Stainless Steel blades. They are USA made and I really like them.

Have you tried vidyut super-max platinum blades I find them a little smoother than the astra sp.

Astra SP is the Volvo 740 of razor blades - it's reliable, lasts for a long time but is not particularly exciting.
    I like it.

Astra SP is a nice blade. I think there are others that rate there with it, many of those are Russian also. Astra SP is a very sharp blade for me, but I have had inconsistencies with them. Probably as with any blade. snce I used them so much I noticed the variation more.. The variation was in smoothness, they would get a bit harsh like a Feather would. I just started hand stropping and corking them which seemed to help.

I like the Astra SP, I prefer Wilkinson Sword Blades, But I will use the Astra SP. I have a couple of packs of them in my Shaving Kit in my RV, Along with my ATT Atlas R-1

If you like Astra SP try the Rapira Platinum Lux. Very similar but I think I may like the Rapira just a hair better.

This is funny, I used to have a modified 1990 740 Turbo. One of the most exciting cars I ever had. It used to scare everyone I took for a ride.

They're OK, nowhere near as good as the Chinese made Schick injector blades or Treet/GEM Blue Star SE blades.

A pretty smooth blade, as I recall, but it's been some time since I've used one.

I+ve been using Astra SPs for a few years now. Considering their price they're excellent, sharp and smooth enough. They're ofcourse overshadowed by other more expensive blades but if you're figuring in the price of the blades Astra SP gets a huge thumb up from me!

They are a very good blade at a very reasonable price. My first large blade purchase was Astra SPs and I don't regret them for a second. In Fact As I continue my shaving journey the Astras provide a guide and baseline for other blades. Sure, I have found a few that are better but not that much better. Might I suggest the gillette silver blues? Equally good in my book.

I say try them. I am one of those who will probably try every blade out there at least once at some point. But alas, I did not enjoy the Platinum Lux blades.
