Very nice shave this morning, actually I haven't been shaving daily but about every other day and all shaves have been superb. I'll be flying out this afternoon and should be home this evening. It's been an enjoyable trip but I'm a poor tourist. Have a good one.

20150207_101026-1.jpg today's shave( on the road)
hot water wash with nivea men's
    pur-tech synthetic/whipped dog handle
    La Toja shave stick
    Gillette fatboy(d4)(7)
    feather(1)
    ICED Aqua Velva ice blue
today's shave was strange, you get very used to your own bathroom. pur-tech face lathered Latoja well. fatboy got three passes nicely, although in a little tall for the mirror. finished with iced ice blue.
    there's no place like home.
hope y'all did as well, or better.

    Red Reminder
I roughed up my neck pretty good today. I think I was just going too fast with der Vorschlaghammer - the hubris of familiarity I suppose.
Krampert’s Frostbite put out the fire nicely, especially when paired with HTGAM FrostByte lotion. I’ll have to take it easy tomorrow to let it heal.

    Prep: warm shower
    Soap: Seifenglatt Montpellier
Brush: Brothers Bristles Black Badger Hybrid Handle
    Razor: Der Vorschlaghammer
    Blade: Voskhod (2)
AS: Krampert’s Finest Frostbite, HTGAM FrostByte lotion

    Razor - 66 Slim Adj (6,5,4)

    SATURDAY
    Rare Morning Shave
Slightly methol-tinged shave, but mostly fougéred. Extremely close yet comfy shave with the Big Imp this morn.
Past experience with this razor's treacherous tip has me well-trained to keep the blade close at all times to avoid painful cheek punctures. I'm learning…..
    Overall, a DFS! :)

    Have a great Saturday, all!

    Saturday morning shave

    DSCN0135[1] (1024x768).jpg

    Pre de Provence shave soap
    WSP Stubby badger brush
    Captains Choice lather bowl
    1931 Gillette Goodwill razor
    Personna Lab blade
    Alum Block
    Vintage Veg

Saturday is my day for the Veg. First time with PdP soap. Got a decent enough lather, plenty of cushion, but still think that TSD glycerin shave soap is slicker. This is my set up until the blade needs changing.

How does that coated old type feel on your face? Did you coat it or have it done?

It looks goo paired with the T2 and nice brush!

Very nice shot. What camera, lens, settings, etc. did you use? In the last few months I've been playing with my Canon Rebel T3i with macro and zoom lenses. Still very much an amateur.

First time using the Ikon. Not sure its going to be my favorite razor. First time using a shave stick and I must say the face lather was awesome. After being outside in -10 deg weather this morning the burn from the Captain was much welcomed.

Thanks! We had a member who was experimenitng with this in 2011 and did some for us. He is no longer doing this. As to the Moly Resin™ coating, it is slick and very hard. 9 on the hardness scale with 10 on the scale being diamond. It also releases water quickly. Proper preparation of the metals is key to getting the Moly Resin™ to properly adhere to the surface. The shave is like any OLD type without any changes. The coating does not change the thickness or cause and issues in use.
