Oh boy are we ever getting buried in snow today and it's so darned cold, but that won't deter me from using a nice frigid set-up for tomorrow!

I thought that today's shave was bone-chillingly cold and believe me, it was but it's nothing compared to what I've got planned for tomorrow morning. The Gatsby facial wash has more menthol than Proraso Green soap and cream, the Glacial Obsidian soap can freeze a penguin to death, and the Anherb conditioner keeps that chilliness going very nicely. The Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel definitely out-freezes the Rubby Dubby Doo. Hey, these SuperMax Blue blades are awesome!

The TABAC Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip Brush. Two passes with my Gillette Fat Handle Tech and a Personna Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then FD Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My February goal is a close and comfortable two- or three-pass shave with this set up. Sunday's shave was great! I'm hoping for a repeat performance on Monday morning! I expect the Feather Pro blade to be smoother still on day three.

 

Only way you could get colder would be to run out and bury your face in the snow. But then your neighbors might call the men in white costs to take you away!

 

These men in white coats would come to take me away if they ever saw my collection of wetshaving items!

I didn't like Sputnik blade before and then. It's too sharp and uncomfortable for me. Although I love Voskhod, I don't get along with Sputnik. The new Arko cream has a scent of lavender which is barely sensible. I made a thick lather with it and liked the slickness but Sputnik caused some nicks.

Der Vorschlaghammer is made for two days of growth. It mowed my stubble with a vengeance. My face was well protected by Ferox lathered by my HIS. A frosty finish was provided courtesy of Krampert's Finest Frostbite.

I opted for the RazoRock this AM, after a week in Ginger's Garden; the menthol is more muted, and the lather took a couple extra seconds as I remembered how to dial it in, but it was super slick and voluminous. Armed with a fresh Asco SS blade, I went for another attempt at the 'double-XTG' technique, again with great success. BBS results in three passes, with the tiniest hint of a weeper on one spot on my upper lip, which was no surprise given a fresh blade and three passes.
