Didn't shave yesterday so a good 2 1/2 days growth. Seeing as I missed my Sunday shave with the Personna 74*, I used it today. What a great shave. SOTD 2-9-15 Hot Shower and Prep -Nivea Men Sensitive Skin Face Wash Razor Merkur 34c Blade Voskhod (1) Brush - Parker Best Badger Lather - Geo F. Trumpers - Violet Scent Post - Warm water rinse, Maggard Razor Alum, wait 30 seconds then cool water rinse, & Neutrogena Razor Defense post shave lotion. I am not real keen on the Violet scent but Trumpers' produces some extra thick lather. 3 pass to a good BBS

My friend, these Glacials are definitely the COLDEST soaps known to mankind. I've told more than one guy that the menthol effect from them is enough to wreak havoc on anyone whose skin is sensitive to stuff like this. In fact, my brother-in-law cannot tolerate this type of menthol power at all. He had an impossible time doing just one pass with my Obsidian soap, and he asked me if the Wintergreen was any different. When I told him that all these soaps are equally-mentholated he said "Forget it, man!" I can handle this type of frigid cold but the first time I used one of these soaps I have to confess that even I was a bit shaken up. I never thought a shaving soap could be this cold that it could feel almost borderline-painful.
Tuesday's shaving plans: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 2 Stirling Glacial Lavender SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Fahrenheit EdT As you can probably tell, I'm in love with my Glacial soaps. This Lavender has everything I can possibly want - a beautiful scent, very good lather ever since I left it out to cure a little more, and a menthol punch which can flatten a polar bear. Not only that, this soap is so soothing and relaxing as well as freezing. There's nothing like a nice massage with the Gold Bond moisturizer followed by a couple of slaps of the Penguin. Today's shave was mega-BBS and I'm expecting it again tomorrow.
2/9/15 - Late post of an early shave Prep: Cornhusker's Lotion Lather: TSD Grey Vetiver type Brush: Vie-Long 13061M Razor: Weber Blade: Shark Post: Old Spice sporty scent of some sort - discovered it matches my deodorant! 3 passes and super smooth. Woke up feeling a little under the weather but tried work anyway. It didn't work. Good thing I have a student teacher this semester as I have a built in substitute on a day like today.

TUESDAY Evening Shave for Tomorrow First shave using my new synthetic brush. Took Gary's recommendation of 'slow building' of face-lather (gradual inclusion of water) with this brush. The resulting lather was excellent: thick, slick, very good glide. Of course, I was using MdC and I can get good lather with that soap with just about anything! Good backbone without any floppiness, soft tips (no scratchiness, unlike my other synthetic), and the handle is very comfortable in hand. Easy to clean, post-shave and the knot dries in no time. Very impressed with brush after the first outing! Oh, and the 3-pass shave wasn't too shabby either… Have a great Tuesday, everyone!
