How to change a picture to an avatar

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this but here goes. I want to change ampiture to an avatar. Maybe one from my phone or possibly just one I find online. I'm not real savvy when it come to avatars. Thanks for any help.

 

Apparently typing on my tablet doesn't come easily either. Hense the title errors. Lol

 

Highlight (don't click) on your name on the right upper corner and you should get a menu list that has Avatar under Alert Preferences. Click on Avatar and you should have a menu box to allow you to attach a photo.
