Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel / Bluebeards Revenge Pre-shave Oil
Razor - Edwin Jagger DE87 Ivory
Blade - Gillette Silver Blue (#3)
    Brush - Omega 20106
    Soap - Tabac
After - Frozen towel / Alum
    Result - BBS

First time trying BBR Pre-shave oil and I approve. To be honest though, if you're buying it, a small amount of coconut oil or similar does the job of making the razor glide better.
Also a first for a modern DE, before it moves to pastures new. I've convinced two friends in the last couple of months to go traditional.

Monday, February 9, 2015 (Yesterday) - "Epiphany!" shave
    Whipped Dog Synthetic
    C.O. Bigelow + 4 drops glycerine
    '66 Gillette Flare Tip w/Gillette 7 O'clock SP (1)
Cold splash, alum, witch hazel, TSD AS Milk
    W/X/A, touch ups

A "Decent" shave with the '66 Flare Tip. (For followers of my posts, you know what a big deal it is for me to get a decent shave with a vintage.) Could have been a little closer, but no nicks, no weepers, and very little irritation. And I had an epiphany! When you guys say "zero pressure," you mean ZERO PRESSURE! It took 16 months to get this through my head. I'm now holding the razor so that, if it weren't resting on my face, it would just droop on over. I'm hoping this opens up many doors of opportunities with the other vintages I've been mangling myself with for over a year.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015 - "'66 Fat boy using the '60 Fat Boy" shave
    Whipped Dog Synthetic
    C.O. Bigelow + 4 drops glycerine
    '60 Fat Boy (4, 3, 3) w/Gillette 7 O'clock SP (2)
Cold splash, alum, witch hazel, TSD AS Milk - Floid Blue Type
    W/X/A, touch ups

The FB has always shredded me. But, with my newfound soft touch, I gave it another try. The shave was not as close as I would have liked. But, I had no nicks, no weepers, and the only irritation was my fault (I felt too cocky and got a little aggressive on the touch up). I'm going to spend the week with this set up and see if I can dial it in.

Another BBS day for me. This morning: Old Spice Fresh Limes shave cream, Edwin Jagger DE87 razor with Astra SP blade, self-made silvertip badger brush. Post-shave was cold water, Thayer's Witch Hazel, followed by Ogallala Limes & Peppercorns aftershave. As usual, three passes and a touch-up under my chin.

Getting to really appreciate the Old Spice cream more and more. At first I was under-impressed by the scent, but it really makes a great lather.

Yeah... you photography guys are a part of the reason I don't post pics. It's not your fault, but I just don't feel inspired by hanging my photographic stick man next to your Sistine Chapels! ;)

I think this is the second olive wood brush I have seen and that is some very nice wood. Will have to get me one!

I put the Monster XXL handle on the Tech and it turned the razor into a most efficient razor. It is one of my favorite razors, but todays shave was superb.

I'm restoring my Grandfathers brushes and instead of re-painting them I'm staying with the natural wood. Just ordered the knots from Whipped Dog.
Had to cut down some elm this year, have to see if there is anything that can be used. :happy088:

    Hey Friends,

i needed a shave after coming home from a hard days work. There wasn´t that much to shave and skin is a bit irritated now, but the joy while shaving was definetly worth it. ;)

Brush: PAV Brushworks "Gold Coast" || Soap: Tim´s Soap "Greek Peach" || Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech || Blade: Personna Med. Prep || Aftershave: Majestät

The Soap is really wonderful. A great peachy scent. I lathered up with my PAV Brushworks Gold Coast Silvertip which created a good amount of great lather which made the shave to an enjoyable one. This one is one of the slickest soaps i´ve ever used.

So Friends, take care and have a wonderful time.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Soap: C&E Oxford & Cambridge, bowl lathered. While I face lather as often as bowl, there something just "fun" about whipping up a bowl of lather, especially from a soap.
Brush: Frank Shaving Finest fan shape, Jade Persian Jar
    Razor: Gold Fat Handled Tech
Blade: Rapira Swedish Super Steel (2)
    Three smooth, bloodless passes
    After Shave: Fine Fresh Vetiver
Sweeeet! Man how I love this.

Seeing Mike's beautiful brush on a regular SOTD basis compelled me to follow suit & pursue the olive wood handle. :happy088:
