TD Thursday Optimal shave today! RPTD is legit soap in every way. The lather is as good as any I've tried, and the scent is a unique classy cologne. It pairs well with Gondolier. Post shave feel is smooth and comfortable all around. It's becoming difficult for me to reach for any other razor as Der Vorschlaghammer continues to give me the best shaves I've had so far. I only get in trouble if I go to fast. Prep: Kiehl's face wash Soap: Reef Point Test Depth Brush: HIS lather monster Razor: Der Vorschlaghammer Blade: Voskhod (3) AS: HTGAM/PAA Gondolier

Thursday's Shave Prep: Hot shower, wife's argan oil conditioner Lather: Kiss My Face Lavender Brush: Omega 13522 Razor: '46-'50 Gillette Heavy Gold Tech Blade: store brand Israeli Personna Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm Scent: Pinaud Clubman Tried a little experiment this morning. Got moving a little late so I tried extra prep in the shower and a 2 pass XTG and ATG shave. Did not go well. I think my beard is too tough to only do 2 passes with the Tech so best to stick to 3. Bit of irritation and not very close. Kept the Clubman far far away from my poor face this morning.

I'm not sure how old the sample of the Ogallala soap is but I didn't detect any scent, but it lathered up quite nicely and the performance was fine. Thought I might embark of experimenting with a simple 2 pass shave. Results aren't quite Gillette New worth yet, but I think I can get there.

PSO: Palmer's oil lather: Arko brush: Omega 31064 blade: Ladas (2) razor: generic Old type - no markings finish: HolyRollah's awesome DIY balm >here< First, let me say that I owe you guys some pics of this new mystery razor. The ebay seller's pics really didn't do it justice. I hope my meager photography efforts can do a little better. My mystery razor arrived yesterday. Opening the package, I was struck by two things: 1) it looks quite a bit better than the ebay pics and 2) it seems a wee bit... well... "wee." When I post a comparison pic, I think you'll see that it isn't quite small, but it seems somehow "slight of build." As an obvious ectomorph, it is rather light in the hand. I was a little bit concerned loading the blade. You can see in the ebay pics that the cap's posts are not quite centered in the base's holes. I found that there is just a bit of play when dry fitting the cap to the base! Fortunately, some experience loading Yumas has well prepared me for adjusting the blade a bit as I tighten the handle. Oddly, blade adjustments were not necessary. Once loaded, the GOT (Generic Old Type ...?) looked a little aggressive. Not a whole lot of blade exposure, but enough, combined with the low head profile, to make me wonder if it would bite. I was delightfully surprised by a very smooth, almost silent ride! OK, y'all this is mostly a mild razor. Mostly? Yeah... it has a gentle touch, but is impressively efficient for its feel. I thought that the Krona had that distinction, but this GOT may have taken the crown. I was BBS(rf) in two passes! (rf = "reasonable facsimile") I could have walked away and been happy after two passes, but this mild razor with minimal audio feedback really intrigued me! Intrigue brought out my obsessive tendencies, so I went into over-touchup mode — without causing irritation! I know it was "over-touchup" because I was actually applying pressure to my finger when feeling for invisible rough spots! I didn't chase the baby out of the trouble spots... I snatched his little heinie up and threw him out the door! I am still pumped from today's shave and it was 1 1/2 hours ago! (To keep it honest... I felt a little tightness in a couple of spots... but it was nothing Kevin's DIY balm couldn't handle. You guys really should give it a shot!) I really lucked out on this ebay gamble. I may be suffering a little from "new toy" syndrome, but I think this little guy has leapt to a permanent(?) place on the short list of candidates for The One.
Schick G8 razor Personna blade CO Bigelow SC WD Silver Tip brush Osage Rub/Witch Hazel/Sage mix Colorado Sage cologne. Another nice shave, I think the G series injector's are just about perfect for me. The Colorado Sage cologne passed the wife/daughter/granddaughter sniff test with high marks. Feels good on the face too.

I used exactly the same things as i did yesterday. Another trumpers shave, this time the lather just disappeared from my face, yet strangely i still had a very good, close, comfortable shave . Today's experience has led me to believe that maybe i should try trumpers creams rather than the soaps. SOTD February 12, 2015 Face & Head Shave Prep: Hot shower. Axe Shield Face Wash Razor: RazoRock Stealth Slant Blade: Personna Lab Blue Brush: WD Silvertip Lather: Martin de Candre Post: Alum.Thayers Lavender WH. Aftershave: Country Club Southern Oud Repeat shave! This setup works very well for me. Three days in between head shaves is too long, I'll need to shave my head every other day now. Country Club is a really good aftershave! Give them a try. Go out and get it!
I think he's going to send them back to Trumpers because he's a Trumpers authorised dealer. He said it would be easier for him to deal with trumpers then it would be for me, which i thought was really nice of him.
02/12/15 February Focus on Blades Prep – MR GLO Razor - Mongoose Satin B2 Blade – Kai Sharp (5) Brush – RV with TGN Finest Lather – Soap Commander Passion Post - Witch Hazel and Captain’s Choice Bay Rum AS Fantastic 3 pass shave this morning. I really like the Kai Sharp blade. I feel it might be the best I have tried thus far. As usual the Soap Commander was easy to load and lather. The scent matches nicely with the CC Bay Rum after shave.
Joe, somewhere I think (in my friend Jim's garage in Utah) a VHS video exist. This was way before everyone walked around with a video camera in their hand. Those were fun times.
