Man alive, I enjoyed my shave with the Glacial Lavender soap this morning - that lather felt like standing outside in twenty below zero weather which is what we're getting right now!

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood stick
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Asco SS: Red (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One0X AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Woke up at 5am with a migraine, and had to wait the three hours for my medicine to work before I could start my shave routine. I loaded my last Asco SS into the 41c, simply to reduce the number of variables while trying to make the Ogallala perform as I would like. As the first lathering is always the one that gives me the most trouble, I tried rinsing off the preshave balm before rubbing the stick across my skin; it seemed to help some, as the first pass's lather was more stable than in previous uses of the stick; that said, the lather wasn't good for all three passes, regardless of my soap:water ratio. Predictably after a migraine and with a new blade, I had some minor weepers on my throat from the 3rd pass, but otherwise a near BBS result.

    Blade - Sputnik
    Brush - L'occitane Plisson Synthetic
    Lather - Tobs Jermyn St.
