Well, I shaved yesterday evening, and I still looked decent this morning. I actually went over a couple of areas with my Braun electric. Technically, it wasn't a traditional shave, but since you asked... OK, it was a modern shave! Maybe even a cutting-edge shave! Something tells me that I shouldn't have posted at all. :scared007:

At least I didn't shave with some old razor!

Or get sprayed by a skunk. :happy102:

    Or smoke something weird. :happy097:

    :signs089:

Once you're in trouble, you might as well make the most of it and have some fun...just call me Psycho! :scared011:

    February Focus - Blades
    2/12/15 - Day 13
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - C.O. Bigelow
    Razor - EJ89L
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
Post - RazoRock Alum & AV Musk

Is it the end of the week yet? No? Still Saturday to go? Sheesh! Well, let's go back to another early morning shave after getting home late at night.

Day two on the Greenie. Today is a bit different because I honestly couldn't remember when I got done and was putting the alum on whether I had done the 3rd pass or not. Seriously. I remember finishing the second pass and telling myself it was a pretty good DFS but I really couldn't, and still can't, remember if I did the third pass or not. Talk about being tired and dazed.

Anyway, results were a DFS and better than yesterday. So, if it was a 2 pass it was far better than yesterday's performance. If it was a 3 pass, then marginally better. The alum still lit me up pretty good so that was consistent, though not as bad as yesterday which makes me think 2 pass. Confused yet? I am.

I will say that shaving with this blade is not my favorite thing to do. I can't complain that it's particularly draggy or irritating while in the middle of the shave, but it just doesn't feel as good to me. Not going to survive into my arsenal. But, I can see where some might really like it. Today's grade is A2. One more day with it. And, that shave will be even earlier. In fact, in only about 7 hours. We'll see if I can remember shaving at all tomorrow!

Weather is getting colder for the weekend. Gotta remember to make sure the heater works.

    Day 14 -

Skipped today. Had just the faintest bit of irritation (been shaving daily lately). Am planning on tomorrow evening. We'll see how it goes. Honestly, it has been almost thoughtless lately. Very easy, very manageable, and very enjoyable.

Haven't really been feeling good so I took a break today as well. Plus the last two times I skipped a day the shave was a lot better so I'm looking forward to it.

I hope you feel better today. Take care of yourself. Every time I skip a day, the shave is better too.

Indeed it paid off. I might have to start skipping days but I like my head smooth so I doubt I could stick with that. I shook off most of the water from the brush and head lathered dipping the brush in the sink a couple times. At first I was thinking it was looking to turn out the same but it eventually worked out to a nice slick lather. Being impatient probably caused some problems before so I'll keep that in mind.

Hope everybody has a great day as well as an awesome shave. Time for some coffee.

    Blade Focus/Face Lather February

Next up is the vaunted Gillette Silver Blue. I've not used this blade in over a year but 1 came in the package sent to me by @RaZorBurn123 earlier this month. Reporting backwards on the Shark Super Chrome - it was really good for 3 shaves, decent for 1 shave and done during the 5th shave. No worries, I've got plenty to use in a 3 and out scheme. The Gillette Silver Blue seems to be well thought of by many and today's shave proved why. Super smooth and sharp. Today's shave ended up being BBS and took no extra effort and the aftershave offered no sting, anywhere today. Lathering was fantastic with the little bodyshop brush and I had plenty of soap left over after 3 passes. The Weber razor continues to deliver consistent results. I shouldn't be surprised as I have used the Weber for 34 of my 48 face and head shaves in 2015.

Prep: warm wash and Cornhusker's Lotion
Lather: Ogallala Bay Rum cedarwood sample
    Brush: Bodyshop synthetic
    Razor: Weber PH bulldog handle
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
    Post: Ogallala Bay Rum

    Have a fantastic weekend!

    02/14/15 February Focus on Blades
    Prep – MR GLO
    Razor - Mongoose Satin B2
    Blade – Kai Sharp (7)
Brush – Every-Ready with TGN Finest
    Lather – Strop Shoppe Barbershoppe
Post - Witch Hazel and Clubman AS

Great 3 pass shave. Time to change the blade. Unlike the Feather Pro which could have easily went past 7 shaves, this one is done. No tugging or pulling but just had to work much harder for the results I wanted. Good thing that the Strop Shoppe is so slick. Finish off with Clubman to complete the Barber Shop theme.

    Feather (day 2)
RV Shaving handle with a 24/46 mm Shavemac Two-band Silvertip knot
    Art of Shaving Sandalwood cream
    Three passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter

I took two days off from using my Feather Artist Club razor. I won't repeat what I did yesterday :D, but I used my Merkur 37C today and had a fantastic shave! Smoother than Cupid! I plan to return to my Feather Artist Club for the remainder of February, but I look forward to using my 37C in March.

I took @txskimo 's advice on the cup of coffee! I hope everyone is having a great Valentine's Day.

    February 15 Plan

    MR GLO
    Feather Artist Club razor
    Feather Professional blade (day 1)
RV Shaving handle with a 24/46 mm Shavemac Two-band Silvertip knot
    Art of Shaving Sandalwood cream
    Two passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter

My February goal is a close and comfortable two- or three-pass shave with this set up. I have, for the most part, reached my goal. This razor rewards excellent technique and lets you know immediately if you have something to work on. I will use the remainder of the month to see if I can get an even closer, while still comfortable, shave.

I face lather, and I really like the RV brush. The knot has soft tips combined with good back bone. It feels entirely different than my Kent Silvertips. The chubby/stubby handle works well if I let it sit in the palm of my hand and grip the sides while lathering.

I store my Clubman in a Frank's RedHot Sauce bottle. Come to think of it, it just might add some zing to that bowl of chili.

I'm nearly out of my AOS cream. I received it as a Christmas gift, and it has been a good performer. From here, I am moving on to a D.R. Harris cream.

    Have a restful Sunday.

It looks like you will go longer than 57...

SS Barber Shoppe on my list of things to get around to trying...
    Neck holding out ok?
