    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood stick
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Asco SS: Red (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (4, 5, 6)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud ClubmanAS splash
Cologne: Aoud Forest by Montale (sample)

Took a day off from shaving yesterday, then back at it today to finish off my week of Ogallala. After the week, I've realized I can get "decent," sometimes even "good" lather, from the shave stick, but I don't know that it's worth the extra effort, to me. On some level, it feels wasteful to have to reapply the stick across my face between each pass, and the lather-building process takes twice as long as my normal face-lathering routine. Today's shave exemplified this, as I spent what felt like a very long time building the lather on each pass (whereas with other methods, the building process is primarily on the first pass). The blade performed well, I had no irritation, weepers, or nicks, and near-BBS results to go with that effort, I'll admit.

Mastro Livi, 8/8 Full Hollow, Livi Point

Superb razor! Deep, effective and very keen, this Mastro Livi straight razor fulfilled all of my expectations providing a very comfortable and magnificent shave. I like aggressive straight razors and this RWL34 just proves all the good things that can be said about Mastro Livi razors made from this stainless steel. Not to mention how I like the scales: the bi-colored amboyna burl really make this razor both elegant and beautiful to see. I am very happy with my new Mastro Livi straight razor!

Inspired by my dear friend Ryan, I selected the Palmolive Menthol cream for my shave this morning and I'm so happy I did because it gave me everything I look for - its fresh, minty, clean scent, so much rich, easy-to-build lather, and plenty of ice-cold menthol with so much soothing post-shave care. The Gillette Series balm is also very cooling with a very pleasant scent, and the Aqua Velva felt fabulous afterwards. It was an excellent and enjoyable BBS shave for me! ;) :D

Great 3 pass BBS shave this morning. First time using the Feather Pro Guard blade. It proved to be very smooth yielding a great shave with no irritation or weepers. The AOS cream was a gift from the family. Normally, I am a soap guy but this cream lathers up so easy and is super slick. Also, the scent is fantastic. I need to use it more often.

Do you find the VDH bowl alittle small to work up a good lather? I tried some C.O. Bigelow yesterday but it seems like the bowl doesnt allow enough space to get enough lather for a couple passes. My VDH brush is also not broken it and kinda stiff.

    Ladies and Gentleman,

today´s shave was a good one again. I want to share it with you.

Preshave: hot shower || Soap: Tim´s Soap Greek Peach || Brush: Nightdiver´s Honeystick || Razor: CAVA || Blade: Gillette Platinum || Aftershave: Anherb Aftershave Conditioner

Great!!! The soap is one of the best i´ve tried so far. The razor is a loan from a friendly member in our german forum. The combination with the Gillette Blade is very smooth. The razor isn´t an aggressive one. Right in the middle. At last i had to use my Anherb Aftershave Conditioner again...what a wonderfull stuff!!! Thank god i have one bottle left in my den. What a smell!!! WOW!!!

So Friends, take care of you and have a great time. Enjoy your shaves.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Love the look of that Cava razor but couldn't find any information about it. It looks great!
I also like what I read about the Anherb aftershave - that balm has received some crazy amount of positive comments online
    Hmm....
    • An Alcohol Free Herbal After Shave Lotion with Sandalwood Extracts and Vitamin E
    • A special combination of selected herbs. Having powerful antiseptic & moisturizing properties. protects skin from after shave dryness & razor burn, heals minor cuts. Makes your skin feel comfortable after shaving.
    • Anherb's specially formulated alcohol free After Shave Conditioner for Men is enriched with natural ingredients that help the skin combat against the harsh and drying effects of shaving, cold weather and even sun.
    • Sandalwood Oil: Extracted from tropical forests of Southern India, it makes for a very powerful ingredient which single handedly deals with problems like razor burns, acne, chapped & cracked skin. Its deep conditioning property makes it one of the key agents of the after shave formulation. Mint Leaf Extract: Known in nature for its cooling effect, it leaves skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated. It also doubles up as a pain relieving agent with soothing effect against razor cuts and burns.

You won´t find any (good) informations on the Internet. Only things i now about it, that is seems to be an Italian Razor (or spanish). There are different meanings about it. I would like to get some informations too, but had no luck since now...maybe a few guys here can give us some input. The CAVA seems often to be in use in the Italian shaving forum "Il rasoio". That´s what i know...

The Anherb is absolutely outstanding stuff. It has a wonderful cooling sensation and feels great applied to the skin. Very moisturizing and calming. I use it not too often, because you can only order this stuff in India...i wrote them weeks ago but didn´t get an answer now...but i can only highly recommend this stuff. When you have the chance to get one bottle, take your chance. It´s worth every penny!!! :)
