After admiring David's @david of central florida and Paul"s @Tdmsu SOTD phots featuring their Brother's Bristle Brushes, I reached out to David asking where he got his brush. David pointed me toward Paul. After exchanging several messages with Paul, I went forward with getting 2 brush handles. One is for me and one will be a gift to a good friend. Paul sent a photo before shipping the handles out.

I received the brush handles and was amazed at the heft and feel of the handles. The workmanship was first rate. Since I really love polished metal handles, I took the time to polish my handle up. Now to decide on the knot to use. I thought about the usual suspects from TGN and Whipped Dog. I already have a Whipped Dog High Mountain brush that I really enjoy using. Since I have never been in love with the Whipped Dog handle I decided to take some measurements confirming that this knot would work. I decided to sacrifice the WD handle and salvage the knot. Turned out to be more work than I thought but it worked out in the end.

I think the finished product turned out great. The knot specs in the finished handle are 24mm with a 52 mm loft. I'm looking forward to using this brush.

I'm also a proud owner of one these new brushes. I fitted my handle with a 22mm 2-band finest fan knot. The loft is pretty high, but the splay and softness make for a nice lathering experience. This brush handle is head and shoulders above the rest of my collection, but I find myself reaching for it more than the others. Great job gents, and best of luck on future designs.

Less than it looks. It's aluminum.

I just weighted "Goliath" and it came in at 239 g or just over 8 oz. It has some good weight, but isn't out of control heavy. It provides a totally different feel and lather experience from the other brushes in my collection.

The newer ones look like this and come with a tuxedo synthetic knot - perhaps the best synth yet. Both soft and has plenty of backbone. These are also lighter - made of solid aluminum.
