No not really. Soap Commander is not as hard of a soap as MWF. Very similar to Stirling in terms of how hard the soap is in the tub.
I really like having some room at the top. One thing I've see too is tubs with false bottoms, I've got a couple I got from mama bear soaps that have a hollow spot at the bottom of the tub, not really sure why though. Like the container is concave at the bottom outside but inside it's flat.
I got my first tub of Soap Commander from my Secret Santa, the Courage. I used it this morning. It is a very good soap. From the photos in the web-site, I thought it was a soft soap/croap. It is not. It is a hard soap, just not in a "puck". I used my usual routine for most of my soaps: soak the surface with a layer of hot water while showering, soak my brush also, shake the brush 3 times, swirl for 20 seconds and go to my face. The scent is a winner. The lather was easy and slick. Post shave is very good as well. I think it will be staying around in the Den! Thanks Santa! Scent:Japanese grapefruit, bergamot, and lemon; followed by middle notes of peppercorn, ginger, jasmine, aquatic marine notes, and a hint of peppermint; sitting on expensive base notes of natural patchouli, cedar, vetiver, labdanum, and frankincense. Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Distilled Water, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Castor Oil, Fragrance, Colorant (Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Tin Oxide.)
I've never tried either of these yet. Maybe the Soap Commander jar is like the Mayo jars or PB Jars with the false bottom or indented bottom.
Used Soap Commander Passion and a 64 Super Speed for this mornings birthday shave. I really am impressed with Soap Commander.
I've heard great things about Soap Commander. The passion scent interests me. Let us know how it works.....
When I first received the tub of Passion, the primary scent note for me was cardamom. In fact on the fist shave I had a negative reaction to the soap. Based on my previous experience with the Confidence scent changing after a few shaves, I did several test lathers. After the practice lathers, no negative reaction to the soap and the scent has rounded out to a nice warm scent with spices over a warm woody base note. I find Soap Commander soaps easy to lather with great after shave properties. The more I use the products the more I am impressed. Clint
Received a tub of the Soap Commander Endurance this weekend as a gift as someone was very attentive to that I had their ASB but not the soap No, no it wasn't one of you lot. Pfft. I normally don't shave on the weekends but I ended up doing it yesterday just to try it out and I have to say wow, this soap is pretty incredible. Super easy to lather - and the lather is very thick and slick. One of the better soaps I've used. I'm still finding the scent, just like the ASB, to be a bit 'off' - can't really place it. It's a rather pleasant scent but I don't think it's an Old Spice scent. A+
I have a tub of LOVE.... and it isn't like a croap at all. It's hard, like a bar of Ivory... I wonder if it'll float?
I have" vision ". I think it's tops. very nice scent. everything I want in a soap. I'm highly pleased with it.
I used the "Confidence" scent for the 30 days in January and have the "Passion" scent in my rotation as well. I think they are great soaps, easy to lather, slick and provide cushion. Overall I am very pleased with the soap and would purchase again.
I just picked up Vision today, and I really enjoy the scent. The peppermint gives it a light minty scent, but the "water lily and honeydew" scents as the website describes it really rounds it out to a more "cool-water with lily-pads" scent.
I did a quick shave with it tonight, actually. The lather was definitely creamy, and the post shave is pretty good. I'll give it a couple more shaves before I give a more in depth review, but by initial impressions I like it.
I got it from someone in my town hi had bought it online. Sadly the only bricks and mortar store I know of in my hometown (Vancouver BC) has a limited and very overpriced selection.
Interesting. Soap Commander's new spring offering was announced today: RENEWAL - described as "a Floral Fougere". Interesting....
