    Wednesday's
    ZCOLDWATER.jpg

    Nivea Men's Face Wash
Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap
Jayaruh WC3 Pure Badger, the brush handle came from the tree of this stump
Merkur 37c Heavy Duty Slant (regular hammer)
    Personna Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Barbasol AS

OK, I gave in and went outside to get the picture.

The Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC3 Pure Badger Brush. Two passes with my Merkur 37c Heavy Duty Slant and a Personna Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barfbasol after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
  2. I use it as a body splash probably 3-4 days/week :)

  3. That razor looks like it could do some serious damage :)

  4. It just looks that way. I suppose it could do some serious damage if you didn't have the head tight or didn't respect it. It gives a good shave.

  5. Jim, I'm surprised that you don't shave outside. It would be a great Cold Water Shave! :happy097: We're experiencing the coldest weather we've had in 20 years here in my neck of the woods.

    Video please.

  7. I just can't overemphasize the importance of good pre-shave preparation.

  9. Yeah we are actually taking some time off over in Hendersonville - We were able to get out this afternoon and get more food.
They are talking about more snow tomorrow

Damn, this Glacial Lavender soap became such a favourite of mine that the more I use it the more I love it. I still cannot get over how nice it smells, or how well it lathers, and how it freezes my face to smithereens and at the same time how perfect its skincare is. My shave today with the Glacial Lemon Chill soap was wonderful, so I'm looking forward to the same results tomorrow morning. The Gold Bond/Rubby Dubby Doo is one hell of a great face-freezing duo! ;) :D

Really chased the baby today for some unknown reason. Caught that sucker, too! But I got carried away, overzealous, whatever you want to call it. My face is smooth as a baby's butt. Unfortunately, the baby's butt is missing the first layer of skin. My face looks good, no blood, no weepers, no nicks, but it's killing me. Ah, live and learn.[/quote]
I know what you mean. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is set the razor down and let the stubble stay. Other days I channel Mr. Churchill and never surrender, for better or worse.
  13. I've used it since the late sixties. Great stuff! Back then it was my signature scent. ;) :happy088:

  19. SOTD: Wednesday 2/18

Razor: 1975 long handle Black Beauty (lovingly brought back to life by Cap'n Murphy) :happy036:
(Had to stop using the 1970 short handle BB due to a mechanical breakdown, the 1/4 turn just disappeared! BB is soaking.)

Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Sharp Edge (Still trying out blades. These aren't bad) :signs002:
Brush: Strong Set restore, WD black badger knot (This brush is a "lather machine"!) :happy088:
Soap: Maggard Limes & Bergamot (mmm, lime)
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush
This is going to be "GO EASY WEDNESDAY"! :happy069:

Tuesday's shave (this morning) was spent chasing that stupid baby around. Just as always happens when an old fart (figuratively speaking) chases a little kid, inevitably the old fart gets hurt and the kid sits there and laughs. :happy102: So was my experience on Tuesday. :signs131:

So Wednesday is going to be a DFS at best, just because. If they look at me funny at work, so be it. :sad024:

    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
Sweet combo of the Otto Deutsch & the MdC Fougére makes for a smooth, super-close comfy shave!
Using a new razor every day sort of 'short-changes' the experience each razor brings to the table.
Mixed metaphors aside, I need to execute consecutive shave days with the same razor to truly get a good feel for each.
Have a great Hump day, all!
