Lovely razor Herm :happy088: and a really good job making it shine :signs107: I always enjoy my shaves with mine very efficient, keep a very shallow angle.

    Soap: Haslinger Schafmilch
    Brush: Omega 10049
    Blade: Gillette Stainless (5th use)

No aftershave needed. Blade appears to be in good shape on fifth use.

    RAZOR: 1907 Single Ring (silver)
    BLADE: Astra SP
BRUSH: Strong Set (restored with a WD black badger knot)
    SOAP: Maggard Limes & Bergamot
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush

Today was my first shave with my 1907 Single Ring. Brought back an Astra SP after my un-scientific multi-blade test, just to see what happens.

Noticed several things about the razor "right off the bat".
    1. This razor is very, very light. I have a ball-end Old Type with the thicker head and the weight difference is noticeable. After a recent rotation with a fat boy, then a slim and then two black beauties (LH/SH), the light weight of this razor felt really great in my hand.
    2. There is a lot of audible feedback. Maybe it's the hollow handle, but it was really easy to hear when the razor was working!
    3. The proper angle is very easy to find. (You're either on the head, on the combs or cutting beard. There's nothing other than these 3 positions.)
The result was a very comfortable, very close shave. I had one tiny blood spot under my chin - that always happens when I use an Astra SP (go figure :signs002:).
Got nearly zero feedback from my AS and my face feels great. Been "faceturbating" in front of my co-workers all morning - let 'em wonder! :happy093:

    Pre- Corn Huskers
    Soap - RR XXX
    Brush - WD Synthetic
    Razor - 66 Slim Adj (7,5,3)
    Blade - GSB (5)
    AS - Pinaud Clubman Musk
Odd shave today. Started out ok, but by end of first pass, slight tugging. Second pass more tugging and final pass...2 weepers...It appears 4 is magic number for the GSB in the adjustable for me. End results, an OK shave.

Some razor designs are just conducive to prominent audible feedback—and that single ring may be one example of the head design does exactly that. I'd venture to guess the hollow handle helps amplify the sound.
The noisiest DE razor I've ever used is the Futur, which I attribute to the oversized, hollow head (...on the razor, not the user! :D)

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock Cumba Cheech
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (6, 7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech AS lotion
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

After the tightness left by yesterday's shave, I opted for the Cumba Cheech today, as I know it can lather more easily and is - in my case - paired with a lotion, rather than a splash. The blade appears to be done, as I caught a weeper on my upper lip on the first pass, and another on my throat on the last pass, in spite of copious slick lather. Despite how cold it's been and how my face reacted yesterday, the Cumba Cheech lotion still doesn't absorb as well as I'd hoped. Ah, well. DFS+ results otherwise.

Thank you! I figured out the angle right away, it was easy to "find". Really enjoyed this morning's shave.

I forgot that today was Western themed day.So I quickly made up this photo. The cigarette is for the Marlborough man in case you were wondering.
Had a great shave today. The Sputnik blade and Pils razor are proving to be an awesome combination. I also made a discovery today. I accidentally dropped to much water in my shaving bowl, or so I thought but actually I got a brilliant lather with the Tobs. That was a nice surprise.

    Razor - Pils DE
Brush - Whipped Dog 22mm Silvertip
Lather - Taylor of old Bond Street. Jermyn St Shaving Cream.
    Blade - Sputnik
    Aftershave - Nivea sensitive balm

I never shower first because my shaves are usually in the afternoon when I have time. Whoever today was a rush. I had to meet the wife for lunch but only had twenty - twenty five minutes to shave, dress and get out the door. So twenty minutes before I was to leave I said to myself, I have time to shave so did my usually few minutes brush soak while brushing teeth and opening up my two RAD packages, then time to get on it.
Prep was the usual just wash my face with hot water and soap, towel dry but leave damp, then get the Arko out, wet the tip and apply to face, make lather with brush and do first pass WTG, rinse/moisten face, reapply Arko, lather and go for second pass XTG, repeat for third pass GTG (XTG opposite, I think!) and some ATG in neck area, then just a little more water on face and lather from brush on one or two rough spots using the brush method and done! With some cleanup all completed within the 20 minutes (about 18 actually), finished getting ready and out the door! On time!

Results were a DFS with no nicks or irritation! Feels about the smoothest ever so might be dang close to a BBS but if not I dont care! Very good results with the weapons used listed below! :)

    iKon Standard head w/bulldog handle
Astra SP (4) - I usually pitch in three but didnt wanna waste any more time as I was on deadline!
    Arko soap stick
    VDH Boar brush.

I never use AS or Cologne or Balm, just cool water rinse that I let hit a few times, then let set for a few second and pat dry!

Hey David, I already know I like personnas. You sent me a couple with the slim. I have one more plus a 5 pack I got in my blade sampler.

I'm gonna use all of them in consecutive shaves to see how my skin reacts and I will judge if they are one of my new Go2 =)
