Day two of the Super Iridium and it was a good day. Nice near BBS result on three passes. Irritation was there but not as much as a Platinum. Definitely a nice shave with good results. Giving it an A/1.5 due to the irritation. I can't ignore it today again since we're two days off of the Russian Roulette.

I'll finish day three with this blade tomorrow and give it a final grade but I think this blade will go in my "also ran" category, but it is one I would use without hesitation if needed. Probably better than any platinum I have tried this month.

Day off tomorrow so I may go out and enjoy the countryside a bit.

The Shick I1 injector razor is a joy to use, and combined with good cream, brush, and pre shave routine, a consistant DFS to BBS result. I must say that the SE razors I have in the collection are much more aggressive, but as a result, more variable in results. It will be interesting to see, after next month's 1914 month, just which razor will be my number one go to razor..... the "closer" shave with more variation, or the predictable, almost "boring" great shaving injector. Shave number 20 tonight.

First time for me using the Feather Super Blade. This blade is thicker and longer than the other blades available for the Goose making the blade exposure and the gap larger. I could tell this is more aggressive set up as I shaved today. More efficient on the first pass and closer shave overall. A 2 pass shave with touch ups yielded a BBS shave. One weeper on my neck but overall not the blood bath I had feared.

Working my way up. Tomorrow up to 8 for first pass to see. I am enjoying the razor a lot better, getting much better shaves due to the Feb Focus. Will probably mix it up in March but back to April focus, I should have my fixed parts for the Rockwell 6S sometime in March, so providing the parts are truly fixed will be focusing on that.

    SDK it's his fault

    I'm really enjoying this.

I will need to focus on something other than soap next month. That will allow me to catch up while the Arko use overaps into March for two weeks.

Final trial day for the Polsilver Super Iridium. The blade has impressed so far and only improved its reputation with me today. Three passes as usual, but the third was neck only as the face was BBS after two. I modified the third pass since I had extra time today and went diagonally on the second pass on the neck, then ATG on the third. The result is a very near BBS, maybe it is a BBS but I'm being picky.

Hit it with the alum and......ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Peaceful and quiet. Clubman was also just a nice finish with no sting. Final day grades as an A1. The Iridium seems to agree with me much more than Platinum, at least with the blades I've tried this month.

Final Grade - A/ 1.5, with the reduction on the second half only because of some minor irritation prior to today. I thought this blade would finish in the bottom half of the trial but surprisingly it gained favor as I went and moved up in line. I also feel strongly that I could continue on the blade for awhile. I have another one in stock that I may return to and do an endurance run with it just to see.

Cost - Best online cost today is $23.00 per 100, so 23 cents a blade shipped from Bulgaria. Higher than I like but I don't think it's overpriced given how it performs.

Tomorrow - the Super Max Super Platinum from India. But for now, this concludes the Russian blades on trial for the month. Let's wish them a happy до свидания (dos svidanya) and farewell until the next time.

    February 23 Plans

    Stirling Sheep Soap
    Feather Artist Club razor
    Feather Professional blade (day 4)
RV Shaving handle with a 24/46 mm Shavemac Two-band Silvertip knot
    D.R. Harris Almond cream
    One pass plus touch-ups
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter

I'm wrapping up my last week with the Feather Artist Club razor. I reached my goal this month of achieving close and comfortable shaves with this razor. I look forward to using my Merkur 37C Slant Bar razor and a boar brush for March. I purchased the brush about 20 years ago at the local Walmart, and I've used it a handful of times with a cart. Truthfully, I won't miss the Artist Club razor too much, but I will definitely miss my two-band silvertip brush.

May your coffee be strong and your Monday be short. :happy088:

Day one on the Super Max Super Platinum from India. I'm skeptical as Platinum has not been my friend this month.

First pass not bad, a little rough but nothing serious. Second pass left my face with a near BBS and neck almost DFS. Went for the third pass and ended with a DFS after two touch up areas on my neck. No nicks, weepers, etc., just awaiting the alum for confirmation of how I did.

Alum barked a bit on my neck but quiet otherwise so not as much irritation as some of the other platinums. That's a good thing. Maybe it will smooth out a bit in the next couple of days.

    Today's grade, A/ 1.5.

Happy Monday to everyone who, like me, is about to hit the road.

Yesterday's shave was the closest shave I have had. Even 12 hours later there was no detectable stubble but it the shave came with a price. While I had no irritation, my face did feel abused by the aggressive Feather Super blade. Given yesterday's results, I just did a quick 2 pass shave with no touch ups at all ending up with a very close shave. Still a little stubble on the chin when I rub my hand against the grain but otherwise a near BBS shave.
