02/25: Day three of four straight days trying mentholated lathers. The initial lather of Stirling MITA was about the same as TOBS Peppermint. However, the second lather and lingering menthol tingle was slightly cooler. Tomorrow will be Stirling Frozen Tundra. The Slim and Lab Blue combination is a daily rig candidate.
    • Growth: 1 day
    • Prep: Shower; Corn Huskers Lotion
    • Lather: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
    • Brush: WD High Mountain 24/52
    • Razor: 1964 Slim (3,1,5)
    • Blade: Personna Lab Blue (3)
    • Post: Alum; Proraso Green AS

Does your face feel like it'd getting burned by the Chai Tea cinnamon? I've read reviews that some people get tore up by it. It felt more like a menthol tingle to me, not a burn.

    Omega boar
Gold Dachs Classic soap in a warm mug

Early shave, late post. Enjoyed Monday's shave with Gold Dachs Macho so much that I decided to continue with another fine Gold Dachs soap today.

I find the MITA has a menthol effect which is cooler than Proraso Green. I wouldn't call it a hyper-mentholated soap like the Glacials, but it definitely is very cooling.

    image.jpg Razor: Merkur 34c HD
Brush: Badassshaving Flaming Birch Black Badger 24/55
    Mug: VDH Black Mug
Cream: Seifenglatt Shaving Soap 'Barber Shop'
    Blade: Feather (2)
Pre shave: Tree Hut Shea Mango
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Neutrogena Balm, California 1981 Bay Rum
The Merkur 34c HD does give me some burn if I use to much pressure or go over an area to many times. You can get away with doing that because this razor is so mild. First time for this soap, very soft like a croup. Nice scent with a hint of liquorice not too strong. Lathers up well even with this soft brush. I screwed in the Feather, and checked the alignment and was good to go for my first pass WTG. A little rinse to see how we are doing and relather for a XTG pass on my face and ATG on my neck. Some more lather for touch up on my neck and we are done. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some Neutrogena Balm then some Bay Rum. Nice smooth shave with just a little burn. It's still cold! Come on global warming, we need you!

Hot Shower and Prep -Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face wash
Gillette Ball End Tech circa 46'-49'
    Blade - Astra SP (3)
    Brush - Parker Best Badger
    Lather - Proraso White
Post - Warm water rinse, Maggard Razor Alum, wait 30 seconds then cool water rinse, Neutorgeana Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion
3 Pass with just a few touchu ps for a nice BBS.

Only the 3rd or 4th time using the Proraso White - it lathers as well and works as great as the Proraso Green tube.

It takes a v e r y l o n g t i m e to break that monster in! I have finally got it to lose some of it's stiffness but there is still a slight funk from the boar knot even today. :sick007: I guess that is the kind of brush that works well for everyday barbers use; it will last forever and not wear out. Good luck and stick with it, it is a great brush in the long run. ;)
