Thanks David. The goal is to put up about 25 razors or so by the end of the year. These months are to figure out which ones I will keep...and which ones will go to other homes. Stay tuned
Thanks, yeah if someone told me they were made last week I would have believed it. It's amazing how sometimes items can pass through seven, or more, decades without a scratch looking like new. Wish the same could be said for us
Today marks the last day of my week of using the Swedish Swing "1935 CC" razor. Looking back it's been a great week of shaving. The razor lies somewhere between aggressive and mild - I guess 'medium' comes to mind. I love the look of the razor and the way it feels when using it is different to any other razor I've used - it feels very unique with the heft and cold smoothness of the Swedish stainless steel. Very solid. The shape of the handle did feel a bit odd to at first as it is rather bottom-heavy but after just a few shaves that became less of a concern and I simply enjoyed how unique it felt. So, placing the Swedish Swing "1935 CC" on the rack...and will be picking up the M.Peroni for next week's shave ....
They do come up for sale from time to time. Another option is a machinist in the UK who is making very very good replicas of that handle in different material ( stainless steel and I believe brass)
When I first became interested in de razors, the only name I knew was Gillette. I had plans to try each and every one, but after mastering my OT, the Gillette bug has diminished and been replaced by wanting to try a host of other razors. Luntz, Luna, Eclipse and the list goes on. The challenge is trying to do it on a very limited budget. I love the styling of this Swing razor; it's so different, although I must admit to liking a heavy head. Perhaps the logic behind the design is to take the weight away from the head and reduce pressure on the face. Anyway, I digress. Thanks for putting the picture up. I absolutely love it.
