March 2, 2015 Pre- Face wash with warm water Razor- Ikon 102 Slant Blade- Personna Soap- Stirling Barbershop Brush- VDH boar Post- Cold water rinse and Osma Alum block Aftershave- Stirling Barbershop balm I love the performance of the Stirling soaps, just crazy lather from loading the brush for 25-30 seconds. Had way too much for a 2 pass shave. My only issue is that while I can't get enough of the Barbershop scent in the bath soap, the AS balm is a little too sweet for me. I don't pick up as much of a sweet note in the bath soap at all. I don't know if it's the combo of the shave soap and AS together or what, but it may be moving on to someone else. I got a sample of the Glastonbury SS to try out, and it smells awesome hopefully it'll be a keeper.
3/3--SOTD Test Day Prep--Hot Shower Brush--Omega Boar Soap--Knockout Cool Blue Razor--RazoRock Mission Blade--Rapira Aftershave--Fine Clean Vetiver Great lather on this soap, almost too much but that isn't a bad problem to have. Razor gave great feedback with the sound I thought. Still need to try blades a few more times. Aftershave smells and feels amazing. Great shave today.

The Tobacco #2 was whipped into a nice lather by the #6. The Valet and the Duck had no problem mowing down the stubble. The AV brought some protection and the Gravity will have me smelling good for the rest of the day. Have a blessed day!
Second day of a week of only using the Swedish Swing "1935 CC" razor. It gave a great, clean shave. The smooth, heavy, cold stainless steel handle almost makes me feel as if I am using a clinical, surgeon's tool. Tyr's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (4/1) Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (10/ 1, 2) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash Cologne: Burberry Brit by Burberry Ever have one of those mornings? Started off soaking the wrong brush, and was halfway through the first - somewhat rough - pass when I remembered I had wanted to change out the blade (which is why my Blade and Passes numbers look like that). The lather was chilly, and so excessive it was as if I had puck-lathered, which helped considerably in creating a DFS+ 3-pass shave without bloodshed.

March Focus - Vintage and Carbon March 3, 2015 - Week 1 Day 3 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Arko Razor - Gillete New Long Comb Blade - (3) Post - RazoRock Alum and Aqua Velva Musk Switched to the Pro 48 for the brush today. Love that brush. The Arko never stood a chance. I have decided that the New Long Comb may be the perfect shaving machine. Seriously, why did Gillette even bother trying to improve on this razor? Day three and not a nick/cut/weeper in sight. I bought this razor for $11 because the seller had it mismatched with a Tech handle in a Tech box and didn't even know what it was. Best steal I ever made. Day three and just another great shave. Did 3 passes and had little to no irritation finishing with a near BBS. The black beauty just keeps on delivering in the New. I'm hoping for a full 7 day run with the blade and so far it hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. I've been giving the razor a 91% alcohol dip to keep rust at bay. This setup just keeps on trucking!
I say iced to designate a/s's that I have added menthol crystals to. it increases the menthol chill. I got the crystals from the shave den shop. 10or 12 crystals in each bottle. maybe 7 in the smaller bottles.
SOTD 3Mar15 Tuesday Hot Water Shave Front : Left to Right; WD 30/65 SilverTip Badger VDH Luxury Mug laded with Luxury Shaving Soap, Wilkinson Sword DE/SS Blades Captains Choice Cat O' Nine Tails Back : Left to Right; Weber 3PC S/S polished Head 85mm Classic Handle Pacific Shaving Co. All Natural Shaving Oil. Today I had a DFS. No nicks no Weepers. Had a few problems with my hands going numb, but not while I was shaving. I used my Whipped Dog 30/65mm Silver Tip Badger Black&White Marbled Resin Handle * {My Preferred Brush} I used myVDH Luxury Mug Set and VDH Luxury Shave Soap. For my per-shave oil I used my Pacific Shaving Co. All Natural Shaving Oil. The razor I used this morning was my Weber 3pc. S/S Polished Head 85mm Classic Handle * ,{This is my Preferred Razor & Favorite} loaded with a Wilkinson Sword DE Blades Black Container. My after shave is one of my favorite stand by aftershaves, Captain's Choice Cat O' Nine Tails.
Razor: Gillette Goodwill #164 1931 (slotted center hole) with original case and blade pack Brush: Fuller Amber Badger 1920s -1940s Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream Blade: Feather (1) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton cologne Frosted Glass 1960s My first outdoor shot for SOTD. Had to wait for the sun to come out, but it is 75 out. The pool is at 65 so no dip today. Loaded a new Feather and checked the alignment. It still looks strange with the studs showing through the top cap, but the Feather was aligned perfectly. From the side it looks a lot like my Gillette Old Type Open Comb Ball End, but shaves like my Tech. I whipped up The Meca Root with the Fuller badger in my favorite mug. First pass WTG very nice glide with no pressure with this light razor. Second pass XTG on my face and then ATG on my neck. The Meca Root was nice and slick and helped get a great shave. A little touchup on my neck, and done. Great razor! Very smooth. The WH felt good and then some JB. And then my favorite Cologne Vintage OS Lime. Ahhhhhhhh!
Ouch! Take your time and get well soon. And a word to the wise, go slow with your refurbished equipment, I made a mistake once thinking I had fixed everything, and it wasn't pretty. I don't think anyone is too inconvenienced. Actually I'm just buttering you up, as I still want to purchase one of those beautiful brushes you create. Take care.
Nice picture! I tried my first outdoor shot today, and it's not as easy as you make it look. The sun is out now it's behind a cloud, sheesh.
