You're right of course. Funny conversation in the middle of the night. I love it when they think things through and come up with their own views on things. A questioning mind is worth a lot! Sending prayers her way!
Well, the answer was inventive, I'll give her that. Kinda wish I'd thought of better excuses as a kid. Maybe she's just nervous/stressed about mommie being away?
I am one of those parents that likes to keep asking them questions and just listen to their logic process. It is very funny and they can actually display some very good logic if you take into account the limited amount of knowledge they actually have at that point in their life. Hopefully I am encouraging critical thinking and logic but at the very least I get some good chuckles. And BTW, I got my tax return today so it eases the stress of my tire blowout yesterday and tonight is daddy/daughter night with my oldest so I have that to look forward to.
Well my shop just called, and can not find anything wrong. It sure sounded like it hydro locked and bent or broke a rod when I cranked it and it stopped running and would not start. My shop provides shuttle service so when I get down there and talk to the tech more maybe I will have an answer, but from the phone call there is none other for the prayers for the truck. We just had cut a check for some surgery I had done and am just coming off of STD and going back to work, so God heals motors as well as sick people, hope God keeps holding this thing together because I heard it, it was broke. If there is a logical answer that will be fine, in the mean time the divine answer is just fine with me. It is a 96 3.4 Tacoma with 164k miles and I will do what it takes to keep it in the driveway. so I had them do a bit of maintenance we knew about and change the oil $250, that sure beats $4500 + for a rebuilt motor install.
Back to back calls with far too much regurgitation of the same pain points. What is the obsession with discussing pain rather than looking for the resoluti? Still I ordered my new straight razor which helped make the day a little more positive. But the real excitement, other than having a shave this evening, is watching my son try and crawl accross the bed to get the remote or ipad
My new Caties Bubbles is out for delivery! On top of that I got the kitchen cleaned up a bit and got a 9lb pork shoulder chopped up in the freezer in preparation for some sausage later this afternoon. This layoff has been kind of nice.
I just got back from an archery lesson. These are productive, but also fun, because my coach is a great guy. Also, he loved the shave soap I gave him.
Then it would just turn into a b****fest, a morass of negativity. Just as crummy things happen in life, so do good things. And sometimes both simultaneously. IMHO, "How's your day?" is perfect, as it lets people relate both the good and the bad things in their day. OK, Macaronus, here is one for you: My day is filled with a lot of things that can either suck or be great opportunities depending on how much extra work I am willing to take on and how I approach these things. I am choosing to approach things with a positive attitude and take on a lot of extra work to do some totally cool things. My day is therefore going well, even if some things (and some people) are a pain in the butt. You totally rock! Really.
I had to get a filling replaced. The Dentist said the old one was ready to fall out. The funny thing is my sister is a dental assistant there.
My day went from really busy (but good) with a ton of errands and a really hard (but good) gym workout to a great semi-surprise: the LimeCat has confirmed that he's coming down from the Frozen North (ie: Hoser Country, eh? ) for a visit after Easter.
The knee doctor confirmed what I already suspected...at 51, it just takes longer to get over sprains, tweeks, etc. Neoprene brace and prescription strength Aleve. Avoid the ice my friends.
Snow Day! Stayin' home, working on some lesson plans for our church Youth Group and my Bible Study. With the youth I'm covering the basics in a course called Foundational Strength which I developed myself. For the Bible Study we're taking a look at the Gift of the Holy Spirit, based on Acts 2:38. I love to teach!
I don't talk a lot about my private life here. Right now I've got some things coming up I'm trying to sort though. I've decided to leave my bad job (it was one I should never have taken, or at least stayed in for as long as I did) at the end of this month and 'float' off savings for a few months, enjoy spring and summer, and look for a new job while possibly doing some freelance work. I was talking to an old friend about this (since 2nd grade) and he suggested I move from Portland, OR to live with him and his family (wife and 4 year old) in the San Francisco bay area. It's a tempting offer. I'm just not sure what kind of opportunities I'd have there.
Hope it keeps on going! I can't do without TSD! Thanks! I'm learning to see things in a more positive perspective. It's still a long way to go, but I'm getting there! Today I discovered why the car battery is empty so often. The radio puts itself on and plays all the time. Even if I put it out and leave the car. So now I have removed the fuse. Silence. Plus, because the car battery was empty I got the chance to use my son's moped to go to the physiotherapist. It was fun!
Woke up this morning at 5:15 and it was 67 outside, let the dogs out to do their business. Did my morning routine: shower, steam my clothes, get my Daughter's lunch packed, wake up the wife (who's sick), dressed, ready to head out. Opened the door to let the furry children back in, and the temp had dropped 20 degrees in an hour and a half. Winds were kicking around 20 mph, and it was a shock to the system. We could have used the AC yesterday (and should have) and it's going to be 29 tonight. Go home Weather, you're drunk!
Today started by not wanting to go to work. Then followed by annoying and impolite people in the daily commute. Then ridiculously long and stacked meetings, followed by no lunch. And now I am getting ready to go home via the impolite people who are part of my daily commute. I love my job as it ensure I can pay for my shaving hobby/ and my unwind detox shave ritual can be enjoyed
Pretty excited! Just got an email from Canada Post telling me my new shaving equipment has arrived. Can't wait to get home and check it out!
