RAZOR: Merkur 41c "1904" Open Comb
    BLADE: Rapira Platinum Lux (1)
    BRUSH: Semogue 1320
    SOAP: RazoRock XXX
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush
    :smiley freezing:

Continued improvement with the Merkur "1904". :D 3 pass shave (WTG, ATG, ATG) with some touch-ups along the jaw as usual. This is an extremely mild razor, but I'm getting the hang of it. Results have been a really nice DFS (probably - I'm not good at this rating thing - BBS, DFS, CCS, UFS...I don't know). All I know is my face is very happy. I've haven't bothered with the alum block and have had next to no feedback from my AS.

A side note on the RazoRock XXX. I've never used this soap before, it's really slick and lathers great! BUT, what the heck is up with the fragrance (and I use that term loosely)? :signs002: I swear it's a cross between old medication and dirty socks. :happy102: At least it fades fast.

I am simply unable to accurately evaluate my shave immediately after I have finished. I am convinced that what I think is a good shave is merely no irritaqtion on the face, and not a true reflection of the closeness of the shave. For closeness of the shave, I can tell if it was a CCs by 6 pm, a DFS by 8pm and a BBS by 10 or 11pm.

It's official my friends, the Glacial Lavender is my number one favourite soap. I just cannot resist using it after being away from it for two days. That scent drives me crazy, the lather buries my face, and the menthol sensation feels like Siberia in January. I also get such wonderful skincare which is so important when I use this soap. The Anherb adds its own special cooling and soothing with a pleasant scent, and the Rubby Dubby Doo puts the final frozen touch to a great shave. ;) :D

Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap
    Jayaruh CH2 Pure Badger
    GEM 1912
    GEM Super Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

This is the third shave in the hospital: same setup as yesterday.

The Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh CH2 Pure Badger Travel Brush. Two passes with my GEM 1912 SE razor and a GEM Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Post - RazoRock Alum & Clubman

Early start, late finish to catch up.

Well since the Treet Double Edge gave up the ghost after 4 shaves (with some rust to show for its efforts) I followed my March plan and loaded a blade I've never tried before. The Lord Platinum from Egypt. Finished with a DFS after three passes and enough irritation from the alum to make me wish I had the carbon blade back. Seriously, it seems the only platinum blades that like my face are Indian or Russian by Mostochlegmash. However, trying new blades in between the carbons is part of the deal so I'll live with this one until Sunday morning when I switch razors and load a new carbon blade. The Lord did fine with the actual shave, just can't stand the level of irritation over the long haul. Trying all of the different blades is a risk, so I just hope I end up smarter than Sylvester!

I picked up three of the Royall Lyme bottles off the net after striking out on vintage Pinaud bottles. The Vie long jumped right into my regular rotation, love it.
