But I saw on the news that there's a guy down there who hangs out at random coffee shops, takes pics of strangers on the street, and occasioally even takes pics of shaving products out on the sidewalk. Like he sets them up in a little scene and everything. That kind of freaks me out.
My wife has been out of town, she comes home tonight. Which means I've got to do some cleaning, make dinner. Her timing was perfect, I received most of my packages while she was gone a brush is a brush, a shaving jar is just a shaving jar..
Renewed the car registration today at the smog kiosk. Done in about 5 minutes with no DMV involvement. Celebrated great success with some pizza. Good day.
Good stuff: I talked with my older brother today for the first time since we had a very loud fight in front of half our hometown around Christmas. (He accused me of being a terrible Christian. I'm a pastor.) Bad stuff: I'm coming up on the deadline to apply for a Clinical Pastoral Care residency in Huntington, WV, and I just don't feel like doing it. The first step is writing a detailed, 5-6 page history of my life. I've reached three paragraphs, I'm fourteen months old, and my nineteen year old brother just had the wreck that left him paralyzed. (Understand why I'm reluctant to plow ahead?)
CPC is rough stuff. An old friend of the family started it years ago as an add on to his volunteering at the local hospital. He dropped out and didn't see the value to digging up all the scars of the past. I had to agree with him... he was a wonderful hospice person from all accounts. (He's now deceased.)
The job market and business climate in the Bay Area is going hog wild. There are tons of tech jobs available, but also plenty of other jobs. It is like the dot com boom, but with its head screwed on straight. The drawback is that the cost of housing is mucho expensive. Of course, the salaries are generally mucho high to match, compared to the rest of the country. The traffic is pretty heavy during commute hours, too. Portland is really beautiful, the people there know how to drive, and it has lots and lots of brewpubs. Sometimes a change is good thing, though.
I totally understand. Think about your reasons for applying CPC residence. Maybe that helps. As will The Big Man Upstairs. Verry sorry to hear that. If it is discovered in an early stage she has a good chance of frecovery. The medical possibilities are much larger than a decade ago. Prayers heading her way. Sounds like a good thing all in all. Go for it!
