Well, that blade is dead. Managed to get a good shave but had to work hard at it. The Williams SS is pretty darn slick and that helped a lot. Ready for another rainy day.

today's shave was nice. tobacco Tuesday. my new brush is massive. is also a lather monster. today I used it for the first time and face lathered with it. it performed great.
**** special note to my brothers with hand issues, arthritis, limited mobility, and so forth.
this brush was very easy to use, very comfortable to hang on to. and is a custom one of a kind, made by one our brothers on the den.
three passes made me very smooth and comfortable. finished with clubman.
hope y 20150310_083146-1.jpg 'all did as well, or better.

    Prep – MR GLO
    Razor – ATT S2
    Blade – Astra SP (1)
Brush – RV with Shavemac Finest
    Lather – MdC
Post - Witch Hazel and Dove AS Balm

I have not been getting on well with the ATT S2. The shaves have not been as smooth as last weeks test of the ATT S1. So this morning in an effort to try and improve the shaves, I went with the Astra SP instead of my normal Persona Lab Blue. Sadly this did not improve the shave. I think at this point, I'm going back to the S1 for the remainder of this week. At least the MdC continues to work well

Early morning shave (4am). I enjoy the calm quiet of an early peaceful morning. Not a sound except that emanating from a full-hollow razor being dragged across a sleepy face.
    A very enjoyable morning shave!
    Have a great Tuesday, all!

    3/10/2015 Tobacco Tuesday!!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GE Jones Shake Sharp, French Fau Frame Back straight razor
    Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
    Brush: Col Conk Pure Badger
    Soap: RazoRock - Tobacco #1
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Musk after shave
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense

It is Tobacco Tuesday! The Col Conk brush did a fine job whipping up the Tobacco #1 into a thick lather. The Shake Sharp and the Frenchy did a great job getting rid of the stubble. The AV provides some protection and the Prada will have me smelling great for the rest of the day.

    Have a blessed day!

After talking this morning with @cubancigar2000 about rose scented shaving creams, I decided to use the very last of my Rose of Bulgaria shaving cream. By the "very last", I mean that I had to cut the tube open and scrape the inside to get enough. I combined it with some MDC unscented for a great shave. The reason I really like the Rose of Bulgaria cream over others is because of the species of rose used. Most of the other rose scented creams (DR. Harris, Geo. F. Trumper, and TOBS) use Rosa Centifolia, which is grown in France and Morocco, while Rose of Bulgaria uses Rosa Damascena, which is grow in Syria, Bulgaria (75% of all rose oil is produced here), and Syria. The scents are similar, but to my nose, the Damscena is a much cleaner and purer scent. 3 passes and smooth as silk.

Rose of Bulgaria w/ MDC unscented
    Sputnik blade
Slim adjustable (I switched back to the slim after using the new long comb for about a week)

I have a question for the group: Am I the only one who has a pair of glasses that are used exclusively for shaving?

No you are not alone. I have a pair that stays next to the shave gear for just that purpose. Never thought I would see the day.

    Soap - RR Zi Peppino
    Brush - Turkish #6
    Razor - Merkur 15C
Blade - Personna Lab blue (3)
    AS - Pinaud Clubman Musk
End of life cycle of blade, OK shave, need to try again in the 15C with a fresh blade to see if it makes a difference. Appears the blade performs great in only 1 razor at this point (for me). Also, my Turkish #6 is starting to shed, last couple of shaves 2-3 hairs coming out....not sure what is occurring there, but I still say for the price a decent brush.

I only have one tobacco. it's rustic shave soap.
but I really like the scent. it's mild, but long lasting. feels clean all day long.
actual shave performance of this rustic variety is very good.
