Except for a small nick on my chin I had another great shave. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap felt like a twenty below zero wind.

    Tyr's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (7, 8, 9)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Burberry Brit by Burberry

Once again, the amount of lather produced by the Simpson brush with the Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow soap bordered on the ridiculous. The shave itself was smooth and comfortable, but the blade wasn't able to cut quite as well as yesterday, and I only got a DFS out of it. I may need to consider changing it tomorrow. I'm noticing this odd 'could be better/near-perfect/could be better' progression with blades, where they only seem to have one excellent day (though exceptions have come up).

Still feeling nostalgic on my journey back in time. Back in the day, if it was a long weekend, I was out of the country Scuba Diving. Now I Jet Ski and water ski with my family a lot of the summer in Destin Florida. Come on summer!! Keeps me young.

The Gillette Tech is a nice mild razor and it's like new, like me. Remember the 60s are the new 40s. The Erskine brush whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug as it was sitting on a wash cloth, for padding, in the sink that was filled with hot water. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Catch the "warm" drift? Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm and some Vintage Bay Rum. I feel young and back in the islands, or Destin works just fine too. I can almost feel the warm sand between my toes. Ahhhhh!

    March 10, 2015 - Week 2 Day 3
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - C.O. Bigelow
    Razor - '46 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - treet-dura-sharp.jpg (3)
Post - RazoRock Alum & The Veg

Day three and this blade is DONE! Overdone a bit maybe. I noticed yesterday it was a bit rough but today was just a tug and drag fest. I did manage after three passes to end up CCS, which is good enough for my day off, but wow did I have to work for it. Surprisingly the alum was very quiet, but I suspect the blade barely touched my skin given the amount of stubble it refused to remove. At least I know if I'm ever stranded in Pakistan and this is the only blade I can get I can at least look presentable for a couple of days. I'll pick another never-before-used blade to finish the week with the Aristocrat.

Best shave to date! Zero irritation. Zero scrapes/nicks.

    The usual setup
    Neutrogena shave cream
    VDH brush
    Merkur 34c HD
    Dorco blade(1)
    WTG/XTG/touch up
    Nivea after balm

I don't know if its psychological or not, but... I do like using the superspeed but I've got better shaves from the 34c and I've used it the least. I still need to try my slim....

It's probably more than psychological. The superspeed is pretty mild. While the 34c isn't exactly an aggressive beast it is a bit more than the SS, which would explain the difference at least in part.
