    Wednesday:
hot shower w/Grandpa's Sandalwood bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    StickSchick 2 passes
    Personna Platinum Chrome (6)
    BurmaShave boar
Gold Dachs Sandalwood soap in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
Wm Neumann & Co Heartwood AS

Been stupid-busy lately so I haven't posted in about 10 days and there's no let up in sight. I've used the StickSchick five shaves in a row now which tells you I haven't even had the time to swap razors.
    Great shave this morning.

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Proraso Shaving Cream
    Frank Shaving Finest Badger
Ever-Ready 1924 w/ short Brass Center Punch Handle
    GEM Super Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The Proraso Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Frank Shaving Finest Badger Brush. Two passes with my Ever-Ready 1924 SE razor and a GEM Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

How do you like the SOC brush? Ive struggled with mine. It seems to soak up all the lather and refuse to share...

I like it because it really works my hard soaps, all my other brushes are horse or silvertip. But it is not breaking in fast. I bought three boars, omega 11137, Italian barbershop which is a semogue 1305 with badger coloring and the soc. The omega is the best from the beginning softer works great. The others lather well but not as soft but I read they take longer to break in. So I went back to bowl lathering with them to break them in better. I also Palm lather at night and give 24 to 48 hrs dry time. So I like it a lot but it's not my favorite yet. If I could only keep one boar at this moment I would go with the omega 11137. But I want to give the others a fair breaking time they. Are only 2 weeks old.

Also I'm overloading them with soap so I'm not having a problem lathering but at first I was that's why I really overload them while breaking them in

I hope I don't have any shaving accidents tomorrow morning because this morning I had one, although I will admit it was my fault. I guess I was too cocky or confident and I was shaving really fast, so I nicked my chin - damn, did it hurt and I couldn't find my styptic pencil. Anyway, I'll be using my number one favourite soap which is the Glacial Lavender and I can't wait to smell that great scent which is so beautiful. The lather is such a pleasure to work up, and the freezing sensation hits like ten tons of icy bricks. Once again I'll be finishing off with the Gold Bond/Penguin combination which is so frigidly nice. ;) :D

I have 50 soaps and Russian tea is at the very top. Its amazing!!! The scent is top notch. Its a mix of orange and spices. Its my first stroppe Shoppe soap and I've been very impressed. Super easy to load and lather.

I could go on and on about it. I will never be without it.

    Tight-wad Tuesday:
    Razor: Baili Victory three-piece ($7)
    Blade: Astra (2nd use)
    Brush: Semogue 1438 ($13)
    Soap: Arko (4$)
    AS: Florida Water ($4)

Hot Shower, wet face and face lathered some Arko. This is the 2nd week (30 day rule) on this little brush. I think of this as "the little brush that could". Easily three full psses with plenty left over. I have heard complaints of the smell of Arko, but never the performance! The cheapo razor does perform very nice. Not BBS, but close. No nicks, and finished with a healthy dose of Florida Water. Wifey doesn't like either Arko or Florida Water but it'll take more than an act of congress before I give them up!
Just some proof that you can get an enjoyable DFS simply and inexpensive WP_20150310_001.jpg :happy088:
