I got my Stirling Executive Man today. It is based on Creed Aventus. On deck for tomorrow.

Creed Aventus smells amazing. I might have to stop by Stirling now.

image.jpg Just arrived. A merkur 1904/1906 open not sure which one not sure they are different, from a trade

Ambonya razor handle and bob sent me two free kits to make my own handles since I bought like four from him in two months. The 3.25 in are the perfect length for the fatip and the muhle r41.

So maybe I can make a handle to match some of my brushes

So here is razor number one that arrived today. A 1970s Made in England Gillette Tech. Now I have two :) but this one is in better condition. So my older one can have a rest.

My wife works for the schools and this is her Spring Break week, so we drove a few hours north in search of antiques. Here is the score!

The Sta-Sharp has an almost spotless, unhoned, blade. The tang end of one scale is broken so it was listed for $14.50
There was much more I passed on buying for budget reasons but it was a great little trip!

Nice trio Bob. I'm curious to hear your impressions. I really like the Creed Aventus scent, and am curious how strong Stirling's version is going to compare. Of course you covered all your bases by picking up all three...lol. If it's a winner, I may have to give it a shot.

Got two razors in the mail today (well technically a couple of days ago..but I had to go to the post office to pick them up today).

    1) A near mint, cased Gillette Rocket HD
    [IMG]
This one set me back 30 dollars but it was in such nice condition AND with the case that I couldn't let it slip past me....

    2) A Gibbs Plus/Minus razor, also with original case
(The + and - signs indicate what side of the head is more or less aggressive)
This razor takes proprietary blades but luckily, for me, the modification needed is super easy (just trim the edges of any modern DE blade).
It was half price compared to the Rocket - got this one for 16 dollars.

Will be great fun trying them out once I find a slot for them on my s/sheet this year :D

Nice! I've been watching eBay a lot lately. Although some look in good condition, I haven't been willing to pull the trigger once they get over $30-40.... But like you said, great shape AND with a case! Very nice. I say worth it.

Today was a good day. I got a very nice 48-50 Super Speed for $10 and a Segal for $15.

It does. That is my next hunt. I have also seen that modern blades can be modified. I will figure it out as I want to shave with it.

Ugh, proprietary blades is such a hassle. Luckily the mod I have to do for my Gibbs seems very simple and I hope the Segal isn't too cumbersome for you - I do love that loading mechanism!
