    Razor- Ever Ready 1914

I tried to dress up today's shave with some different stuff. New soap, which I don't think I like. I bought two pucks of this brand, and both give me weedy, quick breakdown lather. As always,I will give them both extra chances to perform. After that, they get exiled to the 'doesn't work for me' section of the den. The super stainless blade is still going strong. But I do feel that I am starting to detect the beginning of the down slope. We shall see. I am counting today as the blade's 11th go round. So it is bound to be coming soon.
Also, I finally found out the maker of this brush handle. It's by muhle. I don't know when, but the original specimen I saw was label 'made in Germany', so it is earlier than the end of WWII. If anyone happens to know more, I would be happy to find out anything else about the little guy.

    Dove Men Face Wash
    ARKO Extra Performance
    Frank Shaving Finest Badger
GEM 1924 w/ short Brass Center Punch Handle
    GEM Super Stainless (13)
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The ARKO Extra Performance Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Frank Shaving Finest Badger Brush. Two passes with my GEM 1924 SE razor and a GEM Super Stainless blade (13th shave) gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Stirling Sheep soap
    Merkur 37C slant bar
    Feather blade (day 1)
Omega 10098 boar (pic to follow up in upcoming SOTD posts)
    Stirling Naked and Smooth soap
    Two passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter

This will be the maiden voyage of my Omega boar brush. It is already much softer (and obviously larger) than my Ever-Ready boar, but oh man was it F U N K Y out of the box. This must have been one wild boar! I've been soaking it, airing it out, and shooting it with gamma rays all week, and I believe it will be tame enough to use for tomorrow's shave. But just in case I'm wrong, I'm shaving before my shower. :happy097:

    Enjoy your Friday!

Thank you. It feels and acts bigger than 4.25 x 2.5 bowl. Quite pleased with it this morning.

Honestly, I don't know what to use for tomorrow morning's shave. I changed my mind six times already.

How does this set-up sound to you guys?

    Friday morning:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Sharp day 5
Iced Subzero SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Proraso Green AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

I can never forget how nice the Iced Subzero soap because it lathers so well and gives me its awesome menthol sensation with super-duper skincare. JoAnna is another soap genius who puts so much time and effort into producing great stuff. The Gold Bond adds to the frigid stuff and the Proraso Green aftershave is plenty chilly as well. I'm starting to have my doubts about this Sharp blade because although it gave me a BBS result today, it took some effort. ;) :D

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend in advance! :)

Well, I won a Shumate Tungsten straight razor and was going to shave with it tonight. Once it was in my hands...I just couldn't do it. So, I picked up my Fat Boy and did my usual great shave. Has this happened to anybody else...lol. Maybe, I am over thinking it?

Razor: Maggard "Frankenrazor" (Maggard head, unknown handle)
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Green Super Stainless
Brush: Strong Set w/WD Black Badger knot
    Bowl: Pfaltsgraf
    Soap: Maggard Limes & Bergamot
    AS: Barbasol PR

After several shaves with Tech's I need to move on. All the shaves with both my Fat Handle and my '57 Ball-End were presentable shaves, but nothing to write home about. The mildness of the razors left me wanting more. So tomorrow I'm taking a small step away from mildness and using a razor that gave me some of my most comfortable shaves. A note on this handle, it is very heavy. It's solid up to the neck where it screws onto the head. This combo outweighs my DE89 by quite a bit.

    Happy Shaving!

    Bowl: Symmetrical Pottery Shave Bowl
Pre Shave Scrub: SPAtopia Dead Sea Scrub
    Pre Shave Balm: Proraso Sensitive
Shave Cream: Al's Fougere About It
    Post: Monster Alum Block
Soothing Balm: MdC Huile végétale camomille
    Aftershave: Alpa Fougère EdC

Decided to go ahead and continue to use Fougère scented soap for at least the next two days. I knew I had at least five but didn't realize until today while decided on tomorrow shave that I actually have ten on the shelf. Sunday I have my sights on CB Bailey's Irish Coffee but I might finish up the rest of the Fougère's next week. Also my S2 Slant came in two days early from NY and I am really looking forward to see how the Open Comb version of the slant compares to the stand bar version.

    Soap - Proraso Green
Razor - '59 Superspeed (birth year)
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
Post - RazoRock Alum & Proraso

Day two of the backup for the week after the carbon blade died. The superspeed and Kai blade really work well together. Two days of great shaves. Did a 3 pass today and got a DFS very easily. Very comfortable with little irritation. I could get used to this! Nice having an all Proraso day as well. Love the menthol goodness!
