I rotate based on weather, mood, razor and just because. I love variety.

I randomly pick soaps in the morning, sometimes in the evening before. My little collection has grown quite a bit recently. I have a couple weeks worth of soaps, but I may go several weeks in between each use of a particular soap just because. I have a Razorock Don Donato I haven't used in over a month, and I really like it. Hmm, that may be tomorrow's shave....

Thanks everyone. At this point it looks like the concensus is go ahead and rotate them. Probably what I would have done anyway.

If I don't take a pic the night before (planned SOTD) I end up playing eeny meeny with my 30 or so soaps and creams. If I get a great shave, I may stick with it for a couple days.

Today I threw out the second soap ever.
The first soap I have ever literally thrown in the bin was some terrible shaving soap by Lightfoot.
The one I tossed today was Stirling's "Road to Melba". It might be the most disgusting soap - consistency and scent - I've ever tried to use and coupled with an absolute lack of lathering capabilities I truly felt sorry for the bin.

Having said that - I got the soap for free with the clear information that it was a prototype soap at that time. It's been sitting around for a few months and maybe it 'went bad'.
So, in no way will I let this taint how I view Stirling's regular offerings as I've found many of them to be exceptional soaps. This one though....ugh........

I had gone on a soap binge and for 2 years trying everything I could get my hands on. At the end of the second year I had whittled many down to a hand full and mainly used ARKO. This year, SAD kicked in and now I will again have a rotation.

I rotate every day through about 8 soaps and creams. I try to alternate such that I'll pick a soap one day and a cream the next. I don't want to go higher than 8, so I don't plan on buying another type until I've used one of them up.

I started this all about three years ago with just one soap. I liked it so much that I had no desire to try any other. But then the soap-maker started mucking around with the formula and basically ruined it, so I decided to move on.

That's pretty much what I've been doing. I rotate daily and try to limit my stock to around 7 at a time. Right now I've found 3 or 4 that I think I like enough to make a permanent part of the rotation. The rest are for experimenting with the new stuff.

Usually rotate but that leaves me with over a dozen used soaps and creams. I'm thinking of switching to using one up and then moving on..................

I'm on a one week rotation, however, I am open to changing at any time as far as soap goes. Razor is one week along with blades.

I think you would benefit the most by keeping the blades and one soap consistant thru the razor testing, too many variables mess me up. You sure have a nice accumulation for being DE/Straight shaving for 9 months! I'm jealous. Enjoy the journey.

In Feb I did the 30 day rule - a great learning experience. - Now thought I rotate. I don't have a lot of software but I can almost use a different product every day of the week.

I generally pick what I'm go to shave with the night before, so I can setup a picture and lately find a video to go with it. It is total happen stance on what I will choose. It could be based on someone's SOTD that makes me pick up a razor or brush. That's half the fun. My first soap purchase was Cella and even using it a lot, it is not quite finished. And I do have enough to last till 3017. And I have to confess, I only did the 30 day rule for 3 weeks till my FB arrived. Rules are really just guidelines anyway, right? Don't tell Gary!
