I really love weekend shaves since I have more time. Fantastic 3 pass shave this morning with only minor touch ups around my chin. Chased the baby and caught it. I am amazed at how much I enjoy the MdC, super easy to lather.

3/14/15 - Pi Day Shave

My sons and I are headed to a St. Baldrick's event where my older brother is going to have his head and beard shaved to raise money for childhood cancers. Of course I could not show up looking shabby, so I shaved my head with my New SC and my face with my New LC. I'm keeping my goatee though.

Prep: Warm wash and Cornhusker's Lotion
Lather: Frankensoap
Brush: Vie-Long 13061M horsehair
Razor: New LC and New SC
Blades: Wilkinson Sword (1) and Rapira Lux (2)
Post: Proraso green aftershave

Both shaves turned out fine. Smooth everywhere I intended to be smooth. I passed sort of a milestone this morning. I used up the bottle of Proraso green aftershave. It was the first aftershave I purchased when I started on the DE/traditional shaving path last January. But worry not, I kept the fantastic glass bottle and decanted some Aqua Velva Musk into it. It already smells better in glass than in plastic.

 

Ive decanted most of my plastic bottled AS into glass as well. I agree, it improves the product imo.

 

Still in my Time Machine, remembering all those summers growing up in Alabama and a lot of fun places that are now just memories.

Spent most of my summers in Tuscaloosa and down in Gulf Shores, roll Tide! Storms took out a lot of the old places, check the video, that I hung out at. There are always new places, like Hellen Back in Fort Walton Beach, AJs and the Hogs Breath Saloon , out Destin way, but it's always nice to think of the old places and faces from time to time.

A shave to reminisce by. I really like this WD Silvertip brush. So I whipped up the TOBS Grapefruit, nice scent, reminds me of summer back then. WTG XTG on my face and neck on 5. ATG on my neck on 3. The TOBS was nice and slick and with my FB on 3 for my neck, I can buff a little on the hard to get to spots, for a very nice smooth shave. The Cucumber WH is my favorite, so fresh and clean. Followed after cleanup with the JB shave gel, a little goes a long way. Gotta love that vintage OS for the finish. Have a "remember when" kind of day y'all.

I grew up in West Florida, off US 90 about 5 minutes from LA (Lower Alabama). Fishing on Perdido Bay, playing football in the churchyard after services, swimming and hiking and camping. A right and proper swamprat. Great times! Thanks for post.
