I sent Razor Emporium a Facebook message yesterday and someone got back to me within 10 minutes. I inquired about plating schedules and they said that they plate weekly and the turnaround time right now is 3-4 weeks.

Oh that black handle is just cool! Just takes a relatively utilitarian-looking razor to another level!

Finally found my birth-year razor! 1957 (C1) Red Tip.

I haven't, no. This is my first replate with him, but his reputation is beyond exceptional and the volume of work he has speaks to the demand for his artistry. I've heard both good and bad about Razor Emporium which is why I looked for different options.

How do you know it is a 1949 and not a 1948?
"Since NDC (no date code) ended in 1949 and date codes began in 1950........that narrows yours down to a 1948 or 1949 model. There is no way to discern whether it is a 1948 or 1949.

The four handles that I've tried out on the Famex razor this week.
My favorite ended up being the ABC handle.
