I honestly can't say because I never really had trouble with the fatip or the muhle r41 I just end shaved with them like I would any other razor (except the angle of the muhle r41. It's needs to be different than the other razors). But I did learn from playing with handles that this elite small razor handles 3.25 in the shave was better and easier that is while I bought several of them. I can hold the very end so I get very light pressure but being short a little bit of moment on my part does not greatly change the cutting angle like a longer handle would. Hope this helps

    Another great mentholated shave here.

Prep: hot shower, Neutrogena Face Wash.
    Brush: Turkish #6.
    Razor: '62 Gillette Slim.
    Blade: Personna Lab.
    Cream: Palmolive Menthol.
    Post: cold water rinse.

This shave was no different. Two passes got me BBS. I've been skipping aftershave recently because my sinuses are acting up and aftershave bothers my sinuses worse.

Had one of my best shaves ever this morning. Not the coldest Menthol Monday ever but a 2 pass BBS was easily accomplished.

Other than the Merkur blade that came with the 34c, today I finally used a brand other than the Dorco.
I put in a Gillette Silver Blue. I used my 34c since I know it is a smooth runner over my face. All this talk about different blades for different faces, I wasn't sure about. While the Dorco does good, the Gillette was noticeably better. Not as much touch up after 2 passes. No irritation and no red ooze.

Today was obviously shave #1 so tomorrow, if I have enough grow back, will be #2. (I always get better shaves with 2 days growth, like I had today, so we'll see what tomorrow brings with shorter whiskers).

    Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

I had to be up and out the door early this AM, to see my mother in the hospital. As is now quite familiar with this setup, I got loads of good lather and a very comfortable, close DFS+ shave. When I squeezed the lather out of the brush before the final application, it showed a hint of red, but I saw no weepers and the alum highlighted no injuries, so the weeper must have been quite small indeed.

Darn nice shave. It's going to be another week from hell. I just turned 62 so I keep on telling myself I'm only there because I want to be, plus I got people I gotta mess with yet. Have a good one.

image.jpg Come Monday and your back from you trip, you remember the important things
    Razor: Merkur 34c HD
Brush: Vintage Every Ready 675 badger
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: The Gentlemen cedar cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Pre shave: Tree Hut Shea Mango
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Neutrogena Balm, Florida Water cologne

It's always fun going on trips, with the excitement of new places and faces, but it's nice to be back home at the end. Gives you a perspective of what's important.

The Merkur 34c HD does give me some burn if I use to much pressure or go over an area to many times. You can get away with doing that because this razor is so mild. This soap is good and lathers up well even with my new vintage Every Ready badger. I screwed in the Feather, and checked the alignment and was good to go for my first pass WTG. A little rinse to see how we are doing and relather for a XTG pass on my face and ATG on my neck. Some more lather for touch up on my neck and we are done. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some Neutrogena Balm then some Florida Water. Remind me of the summer on the way. Nice smooth shave with just a little burn. Have a good one, and remember the important parts.
