You use cell phones now old man. Nobody smokes in public now, and pot's vaporized electronically now. Who's got a lighter?!
Got a call last night. My aunt is in the hospital. Double pneumonia. She's severely mentally disabled and epileptic, and this sort of thing is really rough on her. Her blood pressure bottomed out and her oxygen intake was nearly nil. She was basically unresponsive. Same thing happened 2 years ago, and the idiots at the hospital accidentally pumped food into her lungs, prolonging her problem. Last time she spent 6 weeks in the hospital recovering. They've got her in ICU now. Hopefully they'll take better care of her this time.
Today is the last day of school before the start of spring break! Whohoo! Already have next week planned out with practices with my floriculture and vet science teams. Who said that teacher's get breaks? I'd rather spend my days off with my students than with a bunch of drunks or tourists!
Last night I got to meet my best friends daughter. They had her when they were both in their very early 20's and knew that they couldn't provide for her as well as they wanted, so she was put up for adoption. The lawyers screwed the pooch on the adoption wishes of the birth family, and put in the papers that they wanted no contact with her ever. It was supposed to be that they wanted contact when she felt ready, and was old enough to handle it. So she'd been looking for them for the past couple of years off and on, with no luck. About a month and a half ago, she joined a Facebook group that helps locate people. They found my friends in less than three hours (actually just got corrected, it was 15 minutes), just crazy! They worked it all out and she came down here for Spring Break from College. Understandably so, they've been spending every single second that they could together, but carved out a little time last night for me, my wife, and my daughter to meet her and have a meal. My little one was bursting at the seams to give her a hug when they met. I've been friends with them for the last 19 years and I've never seen them this fulfilled and happy. Just does my heart good to see it. And she fits in perfectly with them, almost like they were never apart. It's amazing to me how much alike they are in mannerisms, and how well they mesh for not being together for the last 20 years. Good times...
The show was great. Took us back to the 70's and 80's....which is how old Mick Fleetwood looks. Did you get to see my favorite honorary Heartbreaker, Stevie Nicks? A little follow up on my aunt: Yesterday she was awake and alert. Her oxygen levels were back up to around 97, but her BP was a little low on the bottom side. All in all, though, her vitals are looking much better. She's still in ICU, but she is improving. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
I did. She's every bit as colorful and entertaining as I had expected. Easy on the eyes still after all these years.
I'm watching I Dream of Jeannie and I just realized why I never liked this show. Major Nelson is never glad to see Jeannie and always gets mad at her. I find that even more unbelievable than Jeanie being a djinni.
Yeah, I was always perplexed by him getting irritated at a beautiful women who called him "Master" and would fulfill his every wish. It only made sense in the context that the actual romantic pair of the show in the days before "Don't ask, don't tell" was these
