I prefer hard soaps but I just really enjoy the scent Salters Indian Sandalwood. It's performance is pretty good too (for me). Nice shave today, have a good one.

Another real close shave with the Vintage Sonnal slant. The Lord blade I received as a PIF from Jayaruh was excellent (2 pass perfection). Floid Blue is a wonderful product with a classic barbershop scent, making me want to try some of their other scents. It's amazing how much better I feel about the start of the day now that I enjoy shaving.

Correct, that's out of the green tube. The scent is a little different, I've grown to enjoy it.

image.jpg Razor: Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts)
Brush: Erskine Badger 1947 Birth Year
    Mug: VDH
    Cream: Jack Black cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Tommy Bahamas St. Barts cologne
This Goodwill razor is built on "New" parts. My other one is built on "Old" parts. I really like the way these razors look, and they shave me milder than my Gillette Old Type Open Comb. I whipped up the Jack Black cream in my first mug, after having it sit in hot water on a wash cloth in the sink. Gives a nice warm lather. First pass WTG going slow and very nice glide with no pressure with this light razor. Very nice! Second pass XTG on my face and then ATG on my neck. The JB was nice and slick and helped get a great shave. A little touchup on my neck, and done. Great razor! Very smooth! The WH felt good and then some JB balm. After cleanup some Tommy Bahamas St. Barts, a gift from my bride at Christmas. It reminds me of Old Spice Lime but it has a tequila scent in it. No really! Very nice. Did I say tequila? Keeping with the weekend starting early and it is Spring Break......

Thought so. Yeah I don't really mind the scent but don't love it either. Great performer though and the menthol kinda builds with it.

I could give up all other razors for it. I find it to be a nice mild but efficient shaver. I like the heft of the heavy bulldog handle. I use it for face and head shaving.

Have to represent my department at a conference so decided since I had to look and smell extra nice today to use my "elite gear" and to keep within the vintage Gillette Razor theme this week. On to the Fatboy tomorrow.

    Razor Gillette New LC
    Blade Rapira Platinum Lux
    Brush Strong Set
    Soap Razorock XXX

Several coats of witch hazel calmed my skin last night. So, after yesterday's bad blade mishap, today's shave was only a light 2 pass (WTG, XTG). Very, very light touch resulting in a presentable shave. The baby laughed at me the entire time, the little bastard.

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (7, 8, 9)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech AS balm
Cologne: Aoud Forest by Montale (sample)

Another day of great lather. The Bic is holding up better than they often do; I don't think I'll regret pushing it to 4 days (famous last words?). That said, I had a relatively nasty weeper on my throat during my second pass, entirely due to a lapse in concentration on my part. I could practically see it about to happen without being able to stop the weeper from bleeding. You'd think I'd be able to avoid such silliness, but at least I got a DFS shave. Even though it meant I had to wipe away the excess which wouldn't absorb, I opted for the Cumba Cheech balm to finish up, because the cold spell we've had the past couple of days, after several days above freezing, has really dried out my skin. My face does feel smoother and more supple after the RR balm.

    Tabac FTW
Another easy excellent shave with Tabac. The Beast made typical great Tabac lather in seconds, building comfortably on my face for Der Vorschlaghammer to destroy. Krampert's is a nice compliment and my face feels great.
