I was recovering from a gallbladder operation when I heard a thud on our front storm door. I went to investigate and found this cedar waxwing panting and stunned. He survived and later flew off. http://jayaruh.blogspot.com/2012/04/little-bird.html
Mark, thanks for the kind words! You would enjoy Maine, then. It is a beautiful area, and you'll see some very interesting lighthouses.
Indeed! I was born in Van Buren. My folks have retired in Addison, about an hour north of Bar Harbor up Rt. 1. We go up every year. Those coastal shots are making me home sick! Love 'em!!
Charlie, You are right! Maine is very beautiful. Spent time there some summers, late 60's. Portland, Higgin's Beach, Old Orchard Beach . We will be visiting Vermont in mid Sept, Woodstock. VT also pretty nice!
Thanks Steve! I appreciate the kind words. My Bride and I are ready to go back too. We stayed right in Bar Harbor, and we had a great time. The coastal drive along Rt. 1 is breathtaking. Mark, we'd love to visit Vermont! I look forward to seeing your photos in the meantime. My Bride and I considered going back up east this year, but we planned a trip to Alaska instead. I'm sure we'll be blessed with some beautiful scenery and people there as well.
Sand Cave Cumberland Gap NHP After a particularly rainy night, rarely see this kind of water flowing over the falls in the background.
Actually forgot when I shot this, darn thing is I deleted the good one, so be it. Pretty sure it was spring snow, GSMNP
Just a reminder of the rules of the thread as we go into multiple pages. 1. The pictures must be ones that you have taken, or someone close to you personally has taken. In other words don't get random photos from the web. 2. Please keep the images to 1,024K at the longest length if possible so that we can see them easier. I know it sometimes needs to be slightly larger at times depending upon the device. 3. Keep them clean since this is in the general section of the forum. 4. A few words on the photo to provide some extra context is always welcome.
