Although I already have a gillette slim with white handle I bought another one with black handle for $7 in the wild last week. This weekend I also bought an English made razor with stainless steel handle which almost looks brandnew along with a top and base plate which were used roughly. I couldn't figure out this DE's model name or year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I have seen that brush in your SoS photos and it is a real nice looking brush. Erskine brushes tended to be higher in terms of materials used and as you said many have stood the test of time.
Got some new "GEM" blades to tryout my new-to-me GEM razors and a soap dish to try and make a travel case to protect a razor or two and blade packs.
I've never shaved with a SE or a GEM for that matter. I'm still learning good from bad for DE blades. I figured most of my scrapes and nicks were due to technique more than anything. But will definitely post when I do use them/it.

Awesome, thanks Gary. My neck got a little irritated today but if I feel good tomorrow, I will give the GEM a try.
The all-metal DE looks very much like a Personna DE (which would be British version of the US STAR DE).
Oh I still got it...haven't gotten around to actually USE it yet. I just checked and there are some minor cosmetic differences to Recklessstr's razor: Mine:
Also received the Gillette Black Beauty in chrome. For 21 bucks I still think it was a steal. Seems to be very sound mechanically and with just some spots on the head. Will be interesting to see how it cleans up. And hey, now I have one of each Hmmm...that reminds me....I need to clean up the gunky gold one as apparently that's the razor I will shave with this coming week starting tomorrow morning!
Thank you for your help. It seems mine has a personna handle with gillette top and base plates. Btw your personna is stunner.
