Finally got my replacement cream! I received a Vulfix luxury shaving cream on my birthday. But it was to runny, so I sent it back. They were out of stock for a while but now it's in stock again. I got it in the Sicilian Lime scent instead of Persian musk. Smells amazing!
So how is it in the lather category? I liked toe TOBS lime sample I had, any chnce it might smell similar?
I have test lathered the first cream I got, the Persian musk. Even though it was runny it provided a lather that was really luxurious. I can't say how it is to shave with it, I need to get back to you on that. But from the test lather I can with confidence tell you it felt very slick, and very protective. I only returned it before because of the consistency of the "cream", it just felt wrong. As to how it compares to TOBS lime, I couldn't tell you. This is my first and only Lime scented shave product. It smells nice, but feels a little mild. I THINK the smell will get better when it's lathered up. I'm gonna take a pic of the cream, you're going to wanna eat it hahaha
@Misphit The light is poor in the room, my girlfriend was sleeping. But look at that color. Looks good enough to eat haha
Finally cleaned up the Gillette Black Beauty in gold plating last night as you lot had decreed that it should be my razor of the week It came out looking rather nice! The lighter 'streaks'/spots on the handle is me doing a poor job in cleaning off the Hagerty's cleaning liguid - the handle is actually very nice.
Schick lot for $15. The G6 still has the metal dummy blade in it. Not sure what I'm going to do with the band razor (maybe PIF it to someone that needs a case?)
Blades seem to be good. Again, this was the first time using a SE blade and a GEM razor. So, aside from a different razor feel, the blade didn't nick or scrape. This was in my 1912, maybe I'll try my G-bar next.
While I was paying for an old wooden desk chair at my local thrift shop, the owner gave me handful of carbon steel DE razor blades. Unfortunately I could not bring the chair home because it was raining. If anyone knows anything about these, please chime in. Dave
