I was using my mug to hold all my extra blade packs and a couple razors "next in line", styptic pencil, etc... Now I need another mug to put it all back in since I used the mug and VDH soap this morning.
Scented and Unscented...I now have all 3 scents...now on a soap no buy for a while....(famous last words)
LOVED IT! I used my one bush that I restored and was not good for face lathering(too soft and floppy). I had excellent lather built up with in 30sec or so. Applied to my face easy and thick. I had so much lather built up that I didn't need to go back and reload the brush. I could have done 5-6 passes I bet. Nice and slick, when I did the final cold water rinse. I'll definitely be using soap more often now.
Awesome glad to here you liked it! Soaps are nice and pretty luxurious, creams are to but it seams that soaps offer a little more at times. My favorite out of my soaps at the moment is Tabac.
I received a package in the mail from my friend @PatrickA51 . He said he had a few single edge blades to send me, so I was expecting an envelope with the blades in it. He sure surprised me. I opened it and said, "Wow! This is more than a few blades!" There was a puck of Williams Shaving Soap and a puck of Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap. And blades? A mass of blades. 10 Treet Single Edge blades 9 other unmarked single edge blades 10 Wilkinson Sword Classic DE blades 46 assorted DE blades That is two soaps and 85 blades. Ok, so I went to a very sparse antique show when it first opened in the hopes of finding a razor or a brush or two with no luck. I passed by a table where they were selling jewelry in two cases. Then I noticed the Gillette on both of the cases. I circled the room three times before finally deciding to ask about them. He offered me one for fifty bucks which I agreed to after a moments thought. To me it was a little high, but when will you get the chance again? He said he is asked constantly about selling and something about me made him say yes, so now I have a Gillette blade showcase to display my wares. You never know what you are going to find and when a person will say yes. The razor inside is for size purposes only and did not come with the case.
Hmm, I need a couple of those blades for my blade collection.... gimme! Kidding. Hope you enjoy them!
I really like the VDH Soaps. I sort of really suffered from SSAD extremely bad case of it. and overloaded on Stirling Shaving soaps. & A/S AD
I discovered VDH Deluxe at the Walmart when I first returned to DE shaving. I fell in love immediately. It is still in my rotation, and I have piffed a couple as well. Spread the joy.
I have a puck but I haven't tried a soap yet only creams. I have the tutorial video bookmarked but I am not quite there yet.
I just tried the VDH soap puck this morning for the first time and I'm hooked. I've only done creams also... Up until now.
