The Glacial scents are seasonal. But he recently posted something on Facebook that sounded like they are coming back soon.

Sharp Dressed Man 8/10: Scent is very nice but not what I thought it would be. I think my expectations were too high based on its reviews. Great lather, slickness and cushion. Excellent soap!
Barber Shop 8/10: Great scent, lather, slickness and cushion. Excellent soap!

I want to try some of their menthol/ice soaps and I would definitely buy these two again.........................

In a way it makes sense because not everyone is a crazy menthol monkey like I am. None of my friends here in Montreal who wetshave would want to use such strong menthol any time.

Barbershop shave soap 6/10. Like the scent, but not especially easy to lather.
    Barbershop bath soap 8/10.
Graprefruit shave soap sample 1/10. Great scent, could not lather at all. Tried everything.
Lime shave soap. 4/10. Love the scent, tough to get a lather.
Ben Franklin aftershave.1/10 The scent is not for me.
Sharp dressed man aftershave. 7/10. Love the scent, has good staying power without over power, and feels generally good.
Bay Lime aftershave. 6/10. The scent and feel of it grew on me. I do love it now, as an aftershave it leaves my face very dry.

I still have a sharp dressed man puck left and several body soaps left. Sadly, because they are so difficult to lather for me (very hard water in my area, could be a problem and have tried many different methods and brushes) I probably will not order more shave soaps. I will likely order more of the sharp dressed man and bay lime aftershaves, and probably sharp dressed man body soap. Great little company, excellent prices and great customer service.

Keep using the SDM. I had the same reaction at first, but the more I used it the more I liked it. It's probably my favorite scent right now.

If you use Clubman Original, try pairing it with the Barbershop. One of my favorite scent combinations.

I'm in AZ, and we have really hard water. Stirling was one of the first soaps I tried that I found easy to lather. A few suggestions if you haven't tried them already.
    • Are you using or have you tried a boar? May work better than the other brush types.
    • Do you soak the puck at all? I typically splash some water onto the top of the puck before getting into the shower.
    • How are you loading it? I find the tins a little difficult to load from. I prefer to press the pucks down into an old shaving cream tub. If I don't have any available, I'll use a wide mug instead. Seems WAY easier to load than straight from the tin, or even holding in the hand.

I shaved this morning with the Glacial Obsidian around 6:00 AM, and I can still feel a cooling tingle after more than six hours later. That soap can flatten a penguin!

    Yup,
Tried boar, tried two different badgers...tried loading brushes and lathering in separate bowl, tried building lather right in a mug, have tried splashing water on top while in the shower, tried soaking brush, tried a more dry brush..no matter what I do it just does not seem to lather well. Interestingly, the barbershop puck has lathered better than the two citrus pucks so I was wondering if maybe it is something about the citrus. I have not tried the SDM puck yet. I am hoping it lathers well because I do love the scent and am going to keep ordering the aftershave and body soap.

Ordered 4 samples from Stirling a while back- Here are thoughts:
Ozark Mountain- It's okay.. very neutral in my opinion, not what I am looking for in a scent though
Lavender Sage- Nice smell, gf says it smells like soap..
Margaritas in the Arctic- BRRRR so cold! First experience with mentholated soaps and I love it! Great in this CA heat, and also it smells great- perfect for the season IMO.
Sharp Dressed Man- Probably the best-rated Stirling for good reason, this is my favorite of the bunch and I purchased the full-sized puck along with its AS. love it!

I also ordered an Executive Man sample puck that should arrive next week- has anyone tried it? If it does indeed smell like Creed Aventus then it looks like Sharp Dressed Man and Executive Man will be my two alternating scents!

I received a sample puck of their Mag Champa, which I tried for this morning's shave. This has a very rich sandalwood type of smell. Definitely going to be my next order:). I love the fact that Stirling soaps have tallow and lanolin. Having somewhat dry skin, these ingredients help with a comfortable post shave. WP_20150326_003.jpg

so I used the SDM soap today. Again not a great latherer. Love the scent. I will definitely order more aftershave from them and bath sOap but probably no more soap. Other than Ben Franklin have loved all of the scents. Bay lime, SDM, pig trail, barbershop, British leather, sandalwood all great scents and their aftershave are great.

Too bad you can't get a good later out of the soap, especially since the scents are so great. I have softened water and I can get 3-4 passes of thick slippery lather easily from it.

That's very unfortunate! Is your water very hard? Might I recommend blooming the soap?
