    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Astra SP was the first blade I put in my arsenal. Voskhods are my favorite and I think they are comparable, but the Voskhods last a bit better and are sharper, at least to me. The Platinum Lux is nice, as well as Ladas. All blades I keep on hand. The 7 o'clocks don't agree with me. No St. Petersburg Russian blades for me, all Moscow blades.

Sorry I am a noob so dont know where anything is made but I get one more shave from the Voskhod's over the Astra SP's (4 vs 3) and found the Voskhod's about the same price point! I remember now that I have a few Russian tucks sitting here from you generosity in the PIF I was picked from! Thx. for those and I havent used any cause I have some singles to tryout first! :)

I am going to test a Ladas next to see how that fairs and to see how it might compare the the Voskhod's. I would really like to get to one blade only kinda setup! I know, good luck with that right? LOL

A pretty good 3 pass shave this morning. Not sure if it is the razor, the blade or the nut holding the razor but I ended up with several weepers and irritation on my neck between my Adams apple and chin. Much different shave than the Feather Weight I tried earlier. I have ordered some coated blades that should arrive Monday afternoon. Think I am going to try this again with a different blade.

    Sunday (Birthday Shave):

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
Blade: Big Ben Super Stainless (purple wrapper) (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Aoud Forest by Montale (sample)

I had to take my brand new RazoRock razor for a test-drive this AM, and decided to pair it with more RazoRock products. After a solid month of building lather with the Ginger's Garden soap, the RazoRock croap's look on the brush was a significant difference, but it lathered just as easily as I remembered; the menthol was hard to detect, but after the Grass Stain Menthol Snow for 30 days (minus no-shave days) that's not a surprise. The Bamboozled Rake is easily the largest and heaviest DE razor I own, since the 41c and FaTip Piccolo are relatively tiny, but it was easy and instinctive to find the right balance point in my hand. I took a page out of @GDCarrington's playbook by loading the Big Ben into a new razor, and found the pairing very good. The Bamboozled RAKE is notably more aggressive than the 41c, while being considerably more forgiving than the Piccolo. At no point did I find myself having to readjust the angle or pressure because it threatened to bite me; I even was able to go ATG without any bloodshed or hot spots, a rarity for me particularly on a blade's first day. BBS results with a razor that could easily move to the top spot in my den.

    Smooth Sunday
In an effort to bring spring, I went with Ferox today. I don't think it worked since its 19°F. Thankfully, Ferox does make for a great shave. The lather was excellent as usual and der Vorschlaghammer took no prisoners among my stubble. I wanted to avoid strongly scented aftershave at church, so I went with Shea Moisture Elixir - subtle grapefruit scent but very effective skin care.

    Razor- Merkur 37c

    Blade- Rapira super stainless

Post- Cold water rinse, Pinaud Clubman vanilla Classic aftershave lotion and Nivea original mild aftershave balm

It was a long time ago since I used this soap and I remember it was slick as hell. And… It was! Man I got a nice shave. I might have gotten a little to close on some places, but I’m not feeling any razor burn.

The semogue whipped up a good lather, I overloaded today because the last time I lathered with my semogue I didn’t have enough lather for 2 full passes, but today i did HEHE it actually took a good while longer to lather because I loaded so much =P hey, I got enough soap for 5-10 years why be stingy? =P

The rapira performs well, and I have found the best way yo clean the ”soul patch” area. I dont get that close enough and my girlfriend pointed it out, i thought I was getting away with it hahaha. But she made me realize I should maybe try to approach that area in a different way. So I went diagonally and VOILA all gone =D
