Just wondering from experienced board members, how likely would I get scammed if a user on this forum offered to sell me a razor I was looking for but joined this forum on January 2015 and has zero posts? On top of that, he has a similar profile that was created on Dec of 2014 but never logged in since that time.
Without knowing this person or getting any kind of recommendation from a current active member, I'd pass, chances are you will find this razor eventually with a bit of hunting anyway. How did you happen run into him and discover he had just the razor you were looking for.
pretty sure the forum rules have specifics about number of posts, etc. If he is asking you to contact outside of the forum, I'd say no way.
It may not be ascam. Just one of those d bags who only post to sell stuff. They probably do it on every shave site possible.
It's a trap! The way I know that is because you are worried about it. My experience is that this is the cosmos, your guardian angel, or god (whichever you happen to believe) tapping you on the shoulder and whispering "Watch out!"
Yeah, I wouldn't. They may have joined but they don't participate, so I wouldn't consider them a member. They could be as honest as the day is long but due to their nonparticipation who would know?
You could ask if he has seller feedback on eBay or a post history on another shaving community to set your mind at ease. You could also pay via PayPal and mark it as a Goods & Services payment. This gives you an avenue to get your money back if need be, but adds fees on the seller's end, so you might offer to cover them. Generally just a couple bucks and there are online calculators to figure them out in advance.
Yeah, this! Remember just because he/she is new, it doesnt mean automatic scammer! Just sayin' as everyone starts out as a new seller and with that I would ask for pics of the item with his name and date hand wrote on a piece of paper included in each pic taken. Also dont pay using Friends and Family. Then decide if it is real. Also depending on the item search for it somewhere else if you still have doubts!
