Razor: Gillette 85 Super Adjustable "Black Beauty” (p2) 1970 named “The Black Pearl” (5) (3) Brush: Erskine Badger 1947 Birth Year Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: TOBS Grapefruit cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Armani Mania cologne "The Black Pearl" is out for a sail today, with a salty crew. My brush whipped up the TOBS in no time. The Pearl is set on 5 to start as are all my adjustables, which works great with a sharp Feather blade. Good cushion and slickness with the warm TOBS and the Vintage Badger is soft on my face. WTG ATG on (5) on my face changing hands for each side. WTG on my neck on (5) using the opposite hand per side. ATG my neck on (3) right hand right side left hand left side. Smooth shave with a little touchup on the right side of my neck. The weight of the head on the Pearl does all the work, as it sails through the rough sea. A nice splash of Cucumber WH, and then after cleanup some Jack Black Balm. Jaaaack, very nice. Finish with some Armani, nice! Time to set sail for another day, you salty dog. Arrrrrh!
Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Facial Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Stirling Glacial Obsidian Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Big Ben Super Stainless (purple wrapper) (2) Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (4, 5, 6) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy Day two with my lovely new razor. It's really comfortable and instinctive for me to use. It's been over a month since I last reached for the Glacial Obsidian, and it unfortunately showed in my lather. For whatever reason, I have a harder time producing lather that makes my stubble stand up for the razor when using the Stirling than with any other lather-producer. As a result - and maybe as a result of the blade being a tad less sharp on the second day - the shave was marginally less close and comfortable today than yesterday. Still, I got DFS+ results without any irritation or bloodshed.
Aha! okey. Sometimes its nice with unscented things. Its good that there is a lot of choices out there =) If you could would you use scented stuff of have you come to prefer unscented products?

3/30/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!! Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Gillette New LC, French Fau Frame Back straight razor Blade: Wilkinson Sword (1) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: Stirling - Margaritas In The Arctic After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave Cologne: Cuir Cannage I had a nice and cold shave this morning. The #6 brush whipped up the MITA into a slick lather. The Long Comb and the Frenchy did their jobs well. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Cuir Cannage will have me smelling great all day. All things considered it was a Darn Fine Shave +. Have a blessed day!

30mar15 Didn't shave yesterday, so 2days growth... C&E Indian sandalwood shave cream TGN Boar brush 40's SS Astra SP(4) Nivea cooling post shave This was my first use of the Crabtree & Evelyn shave cream. It lathers just like Bigelows(Prorasso). Nice, thick, and fast. I've noticed that the Bigelows/C&E has a tendency to start drying out(pasty) so water needs to be added on each pass. Good cream though. This was also my first use of my 40's SS. Worked good, as if there was any doubt. This was the 4th shave with the Astra and I did get a few nicks/scrapes so its done. Maybe it was me and not the blade because over all an excellent shave, but I figure at 10¢/blade, 4 is good enough. Because of the stinging on final rinse, today was a Nivea cooling post shave day.
MONDAY I didn't really need a shave this morning, but since it is my day off, I figured I'd treat myself to a quality menthol SR shave! Another smooth experience with the Böhler! Have a great Monday, all!
